"Ads is in danger."

My Addie is in danger. 

I will kill whoever fucking touches her.

  I stood up from desk knocking my chair over and started packing my bag, "What is going on Caspian?! Have you talked to her?! Is she still at university?! I swear to god if some-" "Colton! Stop talking man and fucking listen. Adelaide graduated this past May and she has been staying here since then. Dad wants you to be her personal body guard. He said he only trusts the best of the best and you were the first person we both thought of." I let out a relieved sigh relaxing a little bit hearing that she was safe. I set my bag on my desk, putting my phone on speaker. "Cas, you know she wants nothing to do with me. Not after that night." Caspian let out an angry sigh, "I don't give a shit about what happened in the past. You were given an ultimatum your kid or the love of your life. Colt anyone in your position would have chosen their kid in that situation hell I would have done the same thing. Colton, Adelaides safety is the only thing that matters now."

   Damn it, I hate when he's right. "Okay, man. When do you need me to be there?" I start making a to do list in my head and picked my bag back up leaving my office. "We need you to come tonight if you can. You can even bring Kellen with you if it makes you more comfortable. I know how much you hate being apart from him." I was thankful that Caspian said Kellen could come with me. Ever since he was a baby I always panicked when I was away from him because of what Ashley had done to him. My son already didn't have a mother and the last thing I wanted him to think was he didn't have a present father. "Thanks man, that really means a lot to me." 

 When Kellen was a baby Ashley's mom or my parents would watch him for me but I still had a very hard time being apart from him when I was on assignments. Even though he was only a phone call away and he was safe with his grandparents I didn't want to miss a single part of his life. A lot of people are surprised that I allowed Ashley's mom to be in my son's life because of what Ashley did but Lisa never did anything harmful to me or my son. She has completely disowned Ashley and has not spoken to her since he was born. When ever Ashley would show up to Lisa's house begging for food or money Lisa would just slam the door in her face. I was worried Ashley would try and take Kellen away while he was at Lisa's but she reassured me that she would rather die than see my son in Ashleys hands. She even adopted a Cane Cross named Bennie Buns (thanks to Kellen) who is very protective of Lisa and my son. 

 "Daddy!" I quickly catch Kellen who jumped into my arms in the front office. Placing a kiss on his head. "Hey buddy, are you ready to go home?" He quickly nodded his head yes. I put him down and grabbed his hand leading him to my truck helping buckle him in. Kellen was going on and on about how they colored pictures of Toy Story characters, played red rover, and blocks. I loved hearing about his day even if it was something as little as him finding a rock. It makes me feel included in his life. 

 When we got home  I told him we are going to visit and stay with Uncle Caspian for a few days. Kellen didn't even hesitate and started running towards his room to grab his Optimus Prime actions figure with our dog Optimus following him. I followed him into his room to start packing some of his clothes. "I'm ready to go daddy!" Kellen had his backpack on, his action figure, and our dog sitting next to him in the doorway. I let out a laugh, "Oh are you ready to go? What are you going to eat or wear when we get there?" Kellens face fell a little bit realizing he didn't pack any clothes or treats. "I'm sorry, I was so happy I forgot." It's okay Kell, you didn't do anything wrong you just got excited. Come here let's pick your clothes out."

 It took us almost two hours to get to Norfolk and the closer we got my stomach started dropping. Sure I've been to Norfolk several times because my family still lived there but it was the fact that we were going to Addie's house that made me the most nervous. Kellen doesn't know anything about what happened between me and Addie but he does know who she is. He has never met or spoken to her but Cas would always talk about her doing well in school and following her dreams when he called. I was a little nervous for Addie to meet Kell because the last thing I want to happen is for Addie to blame him for what happened between us. If she is nasty to Kellen I will stand up and protect my son regardless of my feelings towards her but I know Addie enough to know she would never do that.
