Continuing from the end of Adelaides chapter......
Adelaide is the most beautiful woman I have ever laid my eyes on and I don't even know if she realizes it. Her curly brown hair falling into a beautiful ringlet waterfall that stopped just below her shoulder blades, her beautiful hazel eyes that always met mine anytime we were in the same room together, her contagious laugh that can make anyones shitty day a whole better, hell her just existing makes my day. I have always liked her but I never knew if she like me or not and I was to chicken shit to go up and ask her.
"Yo colt! Why is Ads high tailing her ass out of the house?!"
Since Caspian's loud ass voice booming in my ear scared the shit out of me mid throw, I completely fucked up my last shot thus loosing the beer pong game. After recovering from my sudden hearing loss I give Caspian a quick punch to his right shoulder hoping it bruised more than his big ass ego.
"Dude! What the hell are you screaming about?! We lost the game."
"Sorry man, I did not know if you could hear me or not over the music."
Fair point.... I was so focused on the game I completely blocked out the noise.
"Thats okay, Whats up man?"
"Ads took off, I tried to stop her to see what was wrong but she ripped her arm away from me."
As soon as I heard Addie took off I was already mowing the other partiers down. What made her so uncomfortable that she had to leave the party without saying anything to me, Lizzie, or Caspian? I don't know but whoever it is there will be hell to pay for fucking with my girl. Once I made it to the front door I quickly opened it with a little to much adrenaline in my veins and accidentally ripped the upper half of the door of the hinge. Fuck it, I will fix it later right now I need to find......
Adelaide.
Thank Fucking God.
Letting out a relieved sigh knowing she is safe I slowly make my way towards her, walking carefully to try and not scare her into running. The closer I got the more I could hear her voice. Who is she talking to, I don't see anyone else nearby. As I am raising my hand getting ready to gently grab her shoulder the words that came out of her mouth quickly put a halt to my advance.
"Why can't you just tell him?"
Lowering my arm, I watched her hunch herself lower under Mrs. Smiths dead peonies in a shitty pot that her sister in law gave her. I hated that pot, anytime me or the boys came over and one of us broke it Mrs.Smith would make us all stop what ever we were doing and fix the pot. Now that I am older I understand why she would make us do it but damn did it make me hate the smell of super glue for years. Deciding she was taking way too long to mention who she is talking about, I finally made my presence known.
"Tell who what?"
I watched as her spine straightened up so fast that her head smacked the hell on that stupid ass pot. The force of her head ramming into the pot sent it flying off of the hanging hook that was attached to the porch. Letting the pot land on the porch and shatter into pieces, I gently grabbed Addie before she rammed her head into the post when she tripped on a lifted piece of a board on the porch.
"Shit Addie! Are you okay?"
I gently grabbed her cheeks in my hands and maneuvered her head in different directions to make sure she was not bleeding from the pot injury. I hope she can't see or feel how sweaty my hands are that are on her face. I always get sweaty palms anytime I am near her so I knew grabbing her face was a huge risk but my protective instinct took over. She gently grasps my wrists slightly holding them still against her face. If this is a dream, I hope I never wake up. I held her face for a few more seconds basking in as much time as I can with her so close to me before realizing there was a more important reason I came out here. Make sure my girl is okay.
"Addie?"
Keeping her head gently grasped in my hands, I gently pulled her face up so I can see those gorgeous eyes when they open. Watching as she slowly opens her eyes, knowing just as much as I did she did not want this moment to end either. However, both of us know there is something in the air that we need to talk about.
"Colt, can we talk please?"
