Yoongi and Namjoon have been distant lately due to their hectic work schedules
__________

The snow was falling heavily outside, blanketing Manhattan in white, a rare peacefulness settling over the city. Namjoon stood by the window of their shared apartment, watching the snowflakes drift down under the soft glow of the streetlights. Normally, he'd be too caught up in work to notice the quiet beauty of a snowstorm, but tonight felt different. He couldn't remember the last time they had a night like this—no deadlines, no meetings, no rushed texts apologizing for being late. Just the two of them, and the world outside frozen in stillness.

Behind him, Namjoon heard the soft creak of the floorboards as Yoongi padded into the living room. His presence was familiar, but recently they hadn't spent enough time together to feel it like this—like Yoongi was a part of him.

It wasn't intentional, the distance that had grown between them. They both had been so busy, always running from one thing to the next. Late nights at the studio for Yoongi, meetings and endless projects for Namjoon. The gap between them had crept up slowly, until one day, Namjoon realized he couldn't remember the last time they'd truly talked or even spent time together without one of them needing to rush off.

Tonight was different, though. The snow had made sure of that, trapping them inside with nowhere to go. It felt like a blessing in disguise, the forced pause they didn't know they needed.

Yoongi's hand came to rest on Namjoon's back, his touch gentle but grounding. Namjoon let out a breath he didn't realize he'd been holding, leaning back slightly into the contact. It had been a while since they'd had this—quiet moments where they could just be together.

"It's snowing pretty hard," Yoongi murmured, his voice low and soft.

Namjoon nodded, eyes still on the window. "Yeah... it feels like the city's on pause."

Yoongi hummed in agreement, and for a moment, they stood there in silence, the only sound the soft fall of the snow outside. Namjoon turned slightly, enough to catch Yoongi's eyes. They looked tired, but there was something else there too—a softness that Namjoon hadn't seen in a while.

Without a word, Namjoon reached out, wrapping his arms around Yoongi's waist and pulling him close. Yoongi's breath hitched slightly, but he didn't pull away. Instead, he rested his head on Namjoon's shoulder, and Namjoon felt the tension slowly melt from his body. They had been running on empty for so long, and this—just holding each other—felt like a relief.

"I've missed this," Namjoon admitted quietly, his voice barely above a whisper.

Yoongi didn't say anything for a long moment, but Namjoon could feel the way his arms tightened around him, pulling him just a little closer. "Me too."

Namjoon leaned back enough to look at Yoongi's face, their foreheads nearly touching. "Let's go for a walk," he suggested, his voice filled with sudden inspiration. "I want to see the city with you like this."

Yoongi raised an eyebrow, his lips twitching in that familiar smirk that Namjoon hadn't seen in a while. "It's freezing out there."

"I'll keep you warm," Namjoon teased, pressing a quick kiss to Yoongi's cheek before stepping away to grab their coats.

Yoongi sighed but followed, wrapping his scarf tightly around his neck. As they stepped outside, the cold hit them instantly, but Namjoon barely noticed. It was rare that they got to slow down like this, and he wasn't going to waste it.

The city streets were quieter than usual, the snow muffling the usual sounds of life. Namjoon reached for Yoongi's hand, lacing their fingers together as they walked, their breaths visible in the cold air.
