Chapter 5 " The Devil"

The next chapter starts with the adventurer meeting the devil, the devil is older reincarnation of him , a time where fought everyone to recreate the new world, getting his friends killed in the process, and his entire body burned, leaving him scarred forever, the way he looks is very scary, he is like demon, for this he was once called "The devil" and "the Lord of monsters"
The adventurer quickly pick it up, the one he is facing is not just a demon, he is basically an older version of him, but he is confused, isnt the reincarnations are about being reborn into new Bodies, how can an older version of him can exist while he also exist, the things are now getting to the next level.
The devil laughs and say "if it only was like that" "sadly it never worked like an reincarnation " "you aren't getting exactly reincarnated"
The adventurer became more confused now, this is the first time we have an insider, someone who understands the real Nature of the mechanism and aware of it. The adventurer asks "Then what is it? What is actually happening?"
The devil says "imagine a toy factory, you have your definiteve lineup, but now suddenly your lineup became bit boring, a bit unwanted by it's intended audience, so what do you do? You create a special edition, you create one where the characters are now suddenly all plumbers, in other time every one is a firefighter, it will never get boring"
The adventurer is still not completely getting it, but he might got the gist of it.
The devil says "here is the thing chud, what I mean that you are not me, you are toy, who got a glimpse of my memories, no one is really is reincarnated, what just simply happens is that we humans die and disappear but our memories get stored and simply imported to the new dolls that the factory makes, but with small changes to make things more exciting"
The adventurer is blown away, what we all thought was happening all along was wrong, no one to this point did really know the truth of it, it completely changes that nature of everything, the adventurer asks "what about my memories? Why do we remember things we should not remember and why my memory exactly is replaced with someone else"
The devil simply explains "when the factory been running for so long, some models are ought to be defective, you can only pump good products for so long" and then he adds " in fact, you can notice with the earliest cycles, someone like consistent reincarnate was always defective from the beginning, he always remembered what he shouldn't, however why your memories is misplaced is something beyond me, I don't have an answer for that question but even with that do you really want to know who you was?"
The adventurer seems little perplexed by the devil response, realizing that the whole systems is flawed and they are not really are being prepared for their Greater fates is a hard pill to swallow but he continues and say " of course I want to know who I was , it's only natural a person wants to know his past and what brought him to this point and made him the way he is"
The devil laughs and reply "Then you didn't understand anything, I'm and every other version of you aren't you, they are just different people with just same memories" then he adds "Yet again I don't blame you, the idea is hard to digest, there are people who based their entire idealogies on their past "reincarnations" even though these things never meant a thing in the first place "
The adventurer wants the devil to elaborate
The devil says " what I meant is that some of these people clung too much to these past fale reincarnation, instead of living their live they became assholes about it, they brought destruction to everything, they thought they are being noble about it but In reality they are only doing it for sake of their egoes..

Take for example the consistent reincarnates, he may showed in your memories so you may know something or else about him, this man was a flawed product, his memories always leak, he is always remembering what happened in past cycles, yet never understood that the man who he had memories is not just not him, the just shared the same memories, and what he do? Well... He destroys, kills and make the cycle continue forever with the belief that everytime things are going to get fixed, they going to get better, despite the factory being more and more damaged and the output is significantly worse, the world is just getting worse and this asshole is just some much up his ass nonsense that he will fix everything, things doesn't work like that, his past glory was never his own, instead of living his own special life in every world with the opportunities he got he instead decided to fixate upon his imaginations and be miserable forever and in the process he ,ade everyone else miserable with him.
And I still didn't talk about the crackhead the black rope, this guy is just.. on another level.
Now I wont lie the way the system punish people who creates the new cycles is tough, you got his memories so you probably know who he is, this guy was cursed for changing the world once to be alone forever, what he doesnt realize that fate doesn't really exist, the factory can control some aspects of their products life but it never fully intervene, the thing that made him suffer the most is always non intentional, him having a daughter and a love life? You might it's intended but believe or not the reason he always have a daughter is always his choice, not a single time it was enforced upon him, the gods and fate didn't do shit to him, and the reason is in your world you can't even reproduce, his daughter wasn't really his own, yes she died again but in world where you live for so long and see alot of things, the probability of her eventual Death is simply very high, and yet he is so in his own shit that he thinks his life was always meant to be miserable and he always lose the peace he wanted to have yet he is the one who clung to his daughter this time, even though he is a different person from who he was in previous cycle and despite not really having a daughter he is Just another asshole who decided that the world is about him and he is the one who is going to change things"
The adventurer is in awe once again after hearing this, yet again he feels he can't completely trust the devil, he seems way too nihilistic to him, yet at same time it's obvious to him that he knows things that no one else knows, and he asks "what about me and you? "
The devil says "do you really want to know? Both Black rope and consistent reincarnate greatest sin is how they are fixated to the idea that their past is very Important yet instead of realizing their past is not about them but completely different people with different bodies and souls just same memories they came to the wrong conclusion of being obligated to live certain lives that they just could avoided.
Do Still want to know?"
The adventurer unsure , he doesn't know what to make of it, to him he never saw the idea of past as a good thing more of a burden but so did black rope and consistent reincarnate and it's what lead the story to here so far, but he want to know the truth and he says "Yes"
The devil say "You was... Nothing, I'm the only relevant version of you, you are simply a boring toy , a failed product that doesn't entertain the fans, a side character that doesn't have much to do, isn't meant to do something greater that it think it is supposed to do, basically you are very minor player"
The adventurer shocked with this knowledge, knowing that his continoues regeneration basically meant nothing, he is not the main character, he isn't meant to do something that will change anything with it, and yet, it feels a bit comforting, him being completely detached from his past versions, it make feel unobligated to anything, not burdened by anything unlike consistent reincarnate and black rope.

The devil says " if you asks me, good for you, you can be whatever you want, letting your past versions determine who you are have always shown to be a catastrophic failure, being completely detached from the past cycles and focusing on who you are currently, by this way you can be someone much Greater than anyone else"
He adds " you know, I'm the reason you have the regeneration ability, after the catastrophe that happened in my world, I wanted my next self to live and completely see how things will go, not realizing that I'm not simply being reborn, I'm just cloned, it mean that I died in the end, it's funny how consistent reincarnate was always afraid of death yet constantly died in every version, he just didn't know that"
The adventurer now knows everything he wanted to know but in the end he asks the devil one last question " what should I do?"
The devil replies "that's the fun part, it's up to you not me"
The adventurer disappears and the devil once again is left alone in the void.
The adventurer regenerates but this time something is different, he arises from the sand, his body is no longer made out of glass, instead he is made out of sand , now he become the sandman, and we notice that the battlefield is littered with glass parts of the dead neo humans, however it's too late because no one is left in the battlefield, and new chapter starts, the apocalypse.
