"So here goes".
--
It was about thirty years ago, at a summer camp, inexpensive but long distance.
The campers did everything that campers do. Hikes in woods, canoeing, campfire songs, the whole nine yards.
But, unbeknownst to the campers, there was an unseen beast watching them....
--
"A beast?!", Sam asked, trembling.
"Oh, yes. At least he was as bad as one."
--
Proceeding...
Then, one night when they were all roasting marshmallows and singing around the campfire, there was a rustling in the nearby woods.
The campers were given a jolt. A counselor got up to investigate, hoping that it was just a squail or something.
But the counselor never came back!
Not alive anyway.
--
"Oh my!", Sam exclaimed, his teeth chattering.
--
He stumbled back onto the campsite, blood running from a wound in his head.
Then the killer bursts out into the open, wielding a giant machete.
The campers disperse.
They were fast, but the killer was faster.
One tried hiding in the kitchen, maybe expecting to use a knife for protection.
Didn't help.
Another simply ducked under their bed and tried to remain silent.
Also didn't help.
One couple who had snuck away before the action happened was ambushed in their cabin.
"Kill her first!" , the boy said as he pushed his girlfriend in front of himself.
-
"What a meanie!", Sam said, voice shaking.
"Yeah, he was. If it's any alleviation, he didn't make it either.
--
On the lighter side, they say only one camper got away to tell the tale...
--
Guy finished his story with a single eyebrow raised.
