Hi, I would just like to say this story is inspired by another story I have read on here though I do not know exactly who it's by or what book it came from if I figure out later I will give credits. Also this is definitely not how all the stuff the Soul Stone worked I have not watched the movie I know so I just did it based off what I saw from the other book and I kind of added my own stuff so please do not be mad at me if it's not accurate :)
--Bucky Barnes and Peter Parker floated in the enigmatic realm of the Soul Stone, surrounded by swirling colors and soft, ethereal lights. Here, time was meaningless, and the two were trapped in an infinite expanse that felt both isolating and strangely intimate.
At first, the silence weighed heavily between them. Bucky often observed Peter, whose bright energy seemed dulled by their predicament. The kid tried to maintain his trademark optimism, cracking jokes and smiling through the uncertainty. But as days stretched into what felt like an eternity, the tension between them began to grow, changing the nature of their connection.
One evening, as they sat on an invisible ledge, Peter broke the stillness. “So, what do you think is happening back home?” he asked, trying to distract himself.
Bucky shrugged, staring off into the swirling light. “I don’t know. I just hope the others are okay.” His mind wandered back to his life before this moment. “I never thought I’d end up here… stuck in a stone with a kid.”
“Hey, I’m not just a kid,” Peter retorted, half-joking. But the playfulness in his tone faded, and he turned to Bucky, concern written all over his face. “What do you mean?”
Bucky sighed, feeling the weight of his past and the complexity of their present situation. “I mean, I’m over a hundred years old. I’ve seen a lot, and I guess I never thought I’d find someone to care about again.”
Peter's heart raced at the vulnerability in Bucky's voice. “You’re not alone anymore,” he said softly. “You have me.”
Bucky turned to him, their eyes locking in an unspoken understanding. “Yeah, but it’s more than that, Pete.” He hesitated, searching for the courage to say what had been weighing on his heart. “I care about you. More than I should. I think I—”
“I think I love you too,” Peter interrupted, his voice trembling with a mixture of fear and excitement. He knew they were in a strange place, but the words felt right. “But… we can’t even touch each other here.”
Bucky nodded, frustration evident in his expression. “I know. It’s like we’re trapped in our own feelings.”
Days blurred together in the Soul Stone, their conversations deepening into confessions of their hopes and fears. They shared stories about their pasts, their dreams, and the people they had lost. Each moment brought them closer, but the inability to physically connect made the experience all the more agonizing.
--
When the moment finally came for their release, the energy of the Soul Stone engulfed them, and in an instant, they found themselves back in the midst of a chaotic battlefield. The Avengers were locked in combat against the remnants of Thanos's forces. (I know that they weren't actually like thrust into battle like this all I know is that they were put back in a battle after they were released from the soul Stone so I just put it as I just came back in the middle of the battlefield so I have no idea how they ended up back so just go with it)
“Bucky!” Peter shouted, scanning the scene as adrenaline surged through him. “We’re back!”
“Let’s move!” Bucky shouted back, feeling a rush of relief mixed with the urgency of their situation. They fought side by side, instinct guiding their every action. It was as if all the training they had endured had led them to this moment.
But the tension of their earlier confessions weighed heavily on Peter’s mind. He fought fiercely, determination fueling his every move, but he couldn't shake the longing for Bucky's touch.
As the battle raged on, the tide began to turn. With Captain Marvel unleashing her full power, the remnants of Thanos's forces began to falter. In a spectacular display, she led the final charge, allowing the Avengers to push forward. (Also I know Captain Marvel didn't snap and Tony did I'm going to put his Captain Marvel snapped and she could handle it because I need Tony alive :( )
When the dust settled, they had won. Bucky and Peter stood amidst the wreckage, panting and exhausted but alive.
--
Peter’s heart raced, and his gaze found Bucky across the battlefield. In that moment, everything else faded away—the noise, the chaos, the aftermath of battle. He sprinted toward Bucky, not thinking about anything but the need to be close to him.
“Bucky!” Peter called out, his voice cutting through the haze.
Bucky turned just in time to see Peter barreling toward him, and before he could brace himself, Peter collided with him. The force of the embrace knocked Bucky off balance, sending them both tumbling to the ground.
The other Avengers paused, confusion etched on their faces as they witnessed the unexpected scene. “Uh, what just happened?” Tony Stark asked, raising an eyebrow.
But Peter was already on top of Bucky, a wide grin spreading across his face. The relief of being back in each other’s presence overwhelmed him, and without thinking, he leaned down and pressed his lips against Bucky’s.
The kiss was unguarded and passionate, a release of all the pent-up emotions they had held back while trapped in the Soul Stone. It was everything they had craved—physical connection and the unspoken bond between them.
Bucky’s eyes widened in surprise, but he quickly melted into the kiss, his hands instinctively finding their way to Peter’s waist, pulling him closer.
The rest of the Avengers stood in shock, a mix of confusion and surprise swirling around them. “Okay, I definitely did not see that coming,” Natasha said, crossing her arms with an amused smirk.
“Does anyone have any idea what just happened?” Clint asked, glancing at the others.
Thor chuckled, a broad smile on his face. “It seems young Parker has claimed his heart’s desire!”
As Peter pulled away, both he and Bucky were flushed, embarrassment creeping in. They shared a sheepish smile, and Bucky's gaze softened. “I guess we’re not in the Soul Stone anymore,” he said, his voice low and teasing.
Peter laughed, heart full as he looked around at their bewildered teammates. “What? You guys don’t kiss your friends after a big battle?”
“Only you, kid,” Tony replied, shaking his head in disbelief, but a proud grin tugged at the corners of his mouth.
Bucky stood, pulling Peter up with him, their fingers intertwining as they faced their friends. The bond they had forged in the Soul Stone had only strengthened in the heat of battle, and now, with the world safe once more, they knew they could face anything together.
“I guess we have some explaining to do,” Peter said, his heart still racing.
Bucky smiled, squeezing Peter’s hand. “I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
And in that moment, surrounded by the people who mattered most, they embraced their new reality together, ready to face whatever came next—side by side.
