Alina

My head was spinning. My vision was hazy. Everything seemed blurry and muffled.

What happened to me?

Memories came flooding back and overwhelmed my senses.

"Father?!" I gasped trying to sit upright, but I was completely bound in thick chains.

Realising I was still in the catacombs, my anxiety started to grow. My wrists, arms, chest, waist, legs, and ankles were all chained to a solid metallic table in the middle of the open room.

Coffins lined the walls in the loculi's scattered in a pattern. Torches lit the room enough for my vampiric vision to see the crude, rusted, surgical equipment arranged on an old table.

Blood smeared the tips of some of the pointier tools. Inhaling deeply I could tell the blood was fresh. Maybe only ten minutes old. The question was, who's was it?

Kirishima!

"Kirishima? Are you here?" I whispered.

No reply.

There was a slight scuffling sound coming from one of the coffins on the wall.

"Kirishima?"

A scratching sound. Fear shivered down my spine.

Just then a heavy wooden door slowly creaked open. My head snapped in the direction of the sound. A warning hiss on my lips.

A hooded figure approached. They stopped next to the table I was chained to and folded their arms across their chest.

"F-father?" I stammered staring up into the darkened hood. I could feel their eyes on me. My entire body trembled beneath their unseeable gaze.

"It's astounding how much you look like her. I knew you couldn't be her though. She wouldn't fight back. She'd be a good girl and do as she's told. She was always obedient. Not like she had much choice in the matter anyway."

What?

They reached up and dropped the hood of their oversized cloak and a gasp escaped me. Vivid memories of my early years of torture came screaming back as I stared into familiar golden eyes.

"Grandfather." I hissed. He's the one that had started all of this.

"Ah so you do remember me. That's good, no need for explanations then." He chortled and stepped next to the table of tools.

"Why are you doing this? Let my friends go. I'm home, you have what you want."

"What I want is an army. A strong army under my command, and with your help that is exactly what I'll have. Unfortunately for your friends they've been enlisted into the draft. They will be the first of the vampiric legion." He grinned maniacally.

He had always been cruel and ruthless, but now I could see just how unhinged this man was. Little to no humanity remained. He was a monster.

"What did you do with Kirishima?" I changed the subject back to the issue at hand. As I spoke my hands were busy trying to figure out the locks at my wrists.

"Who? That red haired boy? Oh, he's taking- a nap, shall we say? You will be joining him soon enough."

My stomach tightened in fear.

"What do you need an army for?" I asked shaking my head in despair.

"I'm glad you asked. Long before you were born, after my wife passed away in a tragic experiment." He paused noticing my intake of breath.

"Oh yes, I have always been fascinated by quirks and how they differ from person to person and even from people who share the same DNA. Look at you, your mother, and your-father." He scrunched his face in disgust.

"You knew?" I gasped. He knew Shota Aizawa was my father and Toru was not.

"Of course I knew. Your mother was a little slut. I knew she was pregnant by the hero in training, so I arranged for her to marry the other one. Could you imagine if they had conceived? The experiments I could do with two halves  that were the same and two that were slightly different." He exclaimed with a madness in his golden eyes.

"You're a monster. How could you say such a thing about your own daughter? Your own flesh and blood." I spat as my temper started to flare.

"Tch, what does it matter to you? She never stood up for you. She would rather her own flesh and blood, her daughter get tortured than to endure it herself. If you ask me she's the selfish monster." He folded his arms across his chest smugly.

"I'll kill you, and I will relish ripping your head from your shoulders with my bare hands." I snarled feeling my fangs extend to their full length.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk. So defiant. Be a good girl now. This is going to hurt you more than it will hurt me." His evil grin flashed a set of fangs as he reached for the bloodied tools.

Sitting in the basement I watched as Shota observed the three still restrained.

"They are progressing with the change. They will wake craving blood. Isn't that right Viktor?"

"Yes." He huffed as his body trembled from blood withdrawals.

"If Alina can control herself so can you."  Shota glared at Viktor.

"She has control over her bloodlust?" I asked.

"Yes. It's taken a lot of hard work and dedication for her to overcome. She's overcome a lot of obstacles. I couldn't be prouder of her." He sighed clearly worried about her.

The slightest glimmer of hope flickered like a waning candle in the darkness. I dared to have hope that the three of us could be a family.

It's a stupid thought. I had to be a good girl and follow his orders. He'd kill Alina if I didn't follow his orders.

But if we could be free from that monster...

I don't dare to dream it. Would they still want to be a part of my family when they learn what I've done? What I've become?

"Ness? You okay?' Shota asked peering at me over his shoulder.

I hadn't realized I had picked up a scalple. It was clenched tightly in my fist. My feet had carried me closer to Shota. I was right behind him now.

Shocked, I dropped it with a loud clang and stepped away from it.

What's happening to me? I- I almost-

My hands flew to my face as I stared into his tired worried eyes that held nothing but love for me.

"Be a good girl and finish the job!"

"No." I whimpered as my body trembled.

"Ness?" Shota turned around completely now. His hands covered in front of him reaching for me but unsure of he should touch me.

"Stay back." I shook my head as tremors rocked my body.

I'm a monster.

"Ness, it's me. What is it? What's wrong?" He asked cautiously.

A warning hiss escaped me.

"Stay back." I leaned away from him. I was changing. It was happening. I still had no control over it.

I'm sorry my love. My vision darkened to a blood red around the edges everything blurred as I slipped farther away from humanity.

"Ness?!" Shota shouted as I dove toward him and knocked over the lamp providing our only source of light, and everything was plunged into darkness.

A scream filled the vast dark room and the smell of fresh spilled blood clung to the air.

Thirsty. So thirsty.
