Jude - River (part 1)

"Cardin this is ridiculous" I whisper yelled at him. "Since when did you get all goody" Valerian said smirking while looking at Jude and Taryn struggle to stay put and not drown. "Since y/n started to take a liking to one of the sisters" Cardan said as we're just watching them now. "What? which sister?" Nicasia asked as we used to date but she literally still likes me even if she's the one who broke up with me. "That's for you to figure out" Locke said. "Whatever" Nicasia just rolls her eyes.

"Come on let's go" Cardan said as he walked away. "Ain't no way I'm leaving them" I said as I stayed on my spot. "Do whatever you want" Locke said following behind Cardan, with Valerian next to Locke. "Y/n let's go" Nicasia said grabbing my hand. "No" I just said. "Come on let's just go please?" Nicasia pleaded. "I'll just be right behind" I said and she just nodded and walked together with Cardan, Valerian and Locke.

"Come on, let me help" I walked over to Jude and Taryn, offering my hand. "Just go with them, we can get out ourselves" Jude said. "Just let her help Jude please, I'm freezing" Taryn whispered but I heard it. "Fine" Jude said taking my hand. Then I helped Taryn. 

I noticed that they we're still freezing so I took off both of my top clothing just leaving me with my sports bra. "What are you doing?" Jude asked looking at me. I just said nothing and offered it to them but Jude refused while Taryn agreed. "Just accept if Jude, you're freezing. Thank you by the way" Taryn smiled at me and I smiled back. Jude finally accepted and placed it over her shoulders. 

"Wait, you have that kind of clothing?" Taryn asked pointing at my sports bra. "Yeah, I've sneaked to the human world" I said as we got out of the forest. "Oh, I thought you we're from the human world" Taryn said disappointed. 

"We can go by ourselves now, go back to Cardan" Jude said turning to me and giving me back my clothing. "Let me walk you back and you can just keep that" I said. "No thank-" Jude was cut off by Taryn. "Yes, that will be great thanks" Taryn said grabbing Jude and my hand.

"So why are you not like Cardan and the others? I mean why are you helping us?" Taryn asked trying to make a conversation. "Well I'm not just like them, I don't like what they're doing" I replied. "Mhm totally did not just make that up" Jude mumbled and Taryn elbowed her. "I'm not like them" I said again.

"We're here, thanks again y/n" Taryn said while Jude just left and went inside. "No problem" I just said. "Don't mind Jude okay? she really doesn't trust anyone. "I've noticed" I said making Taryn giggle. "See you tomorrow" Taryn said waving. "Bye" I said back.

I watched her go inside and closed the door but I stayed and throw a rock in one of the windows, hoping it would be Jude's. "What the hell" I heard someone from the inside and someone opened the window which is Jude. "See you tomorrow!" I said winking at her. I heard her groan and left with her window open but then came back. Throwing me back my clothes out the window. "Oh okay" I just said taking back my clothes of the ground.

"Sorry about that y/n!" I heard Taryn said before Jude closed her window. I just smiled at Taryn for apologizing for her sister and waved at her before I left.

---time skip---

I was with Cardan, Locke, Valerian and Nicasia, sitting under a tree. I was reading my book when I saw Cardan, Locke and Valerian leaving. "Where are you guys going?" I asked. "To cause trouble" Valerian said. I could practically imagine him smirking. Well I guess it's just me and Nicasia alone now. 

I felt her lean her head on my shoulder. "I love you" She suddenly whispered. "Mhm, I've noticed" I just said nonchalantly. "Do you not love me anymore?" She asked looking at me. "I don't know and stop asking me that" I said returning back to my book. "Why huh? because you like Jude?" She said while I just stayed quiet. 

"My mom forced me to break up with you" Nicasia confessed. "And you didn't try to reason with her?" I asked like it's an obvious question. "You don't understand. I did" She said and I feel like she's about to cry. "Are you-" I didn't finish my question because I already saw her crying. Covering her eyes with her wrist, trying to remove her tears. It's rare to see her cry as she doesn't want anyone to see her like this, except me.

I just stayed quite and hold her. My shirt now soaked with her tears. "I believe you" I said rubbing her back, trying to calm her down. After a few minutes she finally calm down and all I can hear was her breathing. She looked at me and she looks so fragile right now, dry tears on her cheek. I can feel her lean in but stopped her. "We can't do this Niki" I said calling her by her nickname I always call her when we we're together.

She just looked at me, disappointed as she laid her head on my chest. "Well well well, what happened here" I heard Locke said looking at us. "Can you'll just leave" I said as my eyes basically showed that its not the time to joke around. "Come on, let's go somewhere else" I heard Cardan said as he walked away. I knew he'd understand.

Nicasia now fully calm down as she got off me and sat down next to me. I saw Taryn dragging Jude to my direction but stopped as soon as they saw Nicasia next to me. I feel like Nicasia also saw them because she asked me to go somewhere with her. "Y/n let's go take a walk" She said as stand up.

I just did what she asked since I don't really want to make her sad or mad after she just cried. "Why do you guys hate the Duartes?" I asked. "Because they're mortals and you like Jude" I heard her mumble the last part. "I don't like you guys doing all sort of things to them" I said as we continued to walk into a one direction. "Well we don't like that you're being to nice to them, just like what Valerian said" Nicasia said. "I've been nice my whole life" I said trying to reason with her. "Mhm.." She just stayed quite after that.
