Tejasswi sat nervously at the café, her fingers lightly tapping the side of her coffee cup. Meera, Rohan, and Karan were with her, their conversation flowing easily, but she couldn't quite join in. Her mind was weighed down by the decision she was about to announce.
Tonight, it was all coming out—her plan to leave home. And she wasn't sure how they'd react.
Karan, sitting across from her, caught her silence and raised an eyebrow, watching her more intently than usual. Meera was also quick to pick up on Tejasswi's mood, while Rohan, always easygoing, leaned back in his chair, glancing between everyone.
"Teja, aaj tum itni chup kyun ho?" Rohan finally broke the silence, his tone light but curious. "Kuch chal raha hai?"
Tejasswi forced a small smile but didn't quite meet his eyes. "Haan, bas soch rahi thi. Kuch important baat karni hai tum logon se."
Karan leaned forward, his expression unreadable, though there was a flicker of something deeper in his eyes. "We're all ears. Jo bhi hai, bata do."
Meera gave Tejasswi a supportive nod, though there was an edge of concern in her voice. "Teju, everything okay?"
Tejasswi took a deep breath, steadying herself. "Main ne faisla kar liya hai... ghar chhodne ka."
The air seemed to shift. Meera's eyes widened slightly, while Rohan, who rarely took things too seriously, sat up a little straighter. Karan's expression didn't change much, but his fingers tightened around his coffee cup.
"Kya?" Meera whispered, clearly taken aback. "Teju, are you sure?"
"Haan," Tejasswi said firmly, though her voice softened as she explained, "I've been thinking about it for a long time. Mere ghar ke issues aur meri khushi donon ke beech mein ek compromise nahi kar sakti. It's time I make a decision for myself."
Meera glanced at Karan, who stayed silent, listening intently. She shifted uncomfortably, clearly torn between supporting her friend and her own fears. "Mujhe tumhari fikar hai, Tejasswi... Lekin agar tumhe lagta hai ke yeh sahi hai, to main tumhare saath hoon."
Rohan, meanwhile, gave Tejasswi a nod, his usual playfulness replaced with genuine seriousness. "Main bhi, Teja. Tum jo bhi faisla lo, hum tumhare saath hain."
Tejasswi smiled gratefully, feeling the weight of her decision lighten just a little.
The Silent Understanding Between Karan and Rohan
Throughout the conversation, Karan's focus remained fixed on Tejasswi, but there was an almost imperceptible glance shared between him and Rohan—a brief exchange of silent understanding.
Rohan's loyalty to Karan had never wavered. He had stood by Karan in this entire plan, helping him navigate the twists and turns of this complicated situation. But now, as Tejasswi made her declaration, Rohan's gaze flickered toward Karan, as if asking an unspoken question.
Karan responded with the smallest nod—acknowledging Rohan's concern but also conveying his own silent acceptance. This was all part of the plan... or at least, it had been.
Meera and Rohan's Connection Grows
Meanwhile, Meera, though visibly concerned for Tejasswi, found her attention pulled toward Rohan more often than she expected. There was something about his calm confidence, the way he always had a smile ready, that made her feel more at ease.
As the conversation continued, their eyes met across the table, and Meera felt a warmth she hadn't noticed before. It was subtle—a spark—but it was there.
Rohan, sensing her gaze, gave her a small, almost teasing smile, as if he knew exactly what she was thinking. "Tum thik ho, Meera?"
Meera blinked, snapping out of her thoughts. "Haan, bas... Teju ko le kar thoda pareshan hoon."
Rohan's smile softened, and he leaned in slightly. "Don't worry. She's strong, aur hum sab mil kar uska saath denge."
Meera nodded, feeling comforted by his words. And in that moment, she realized that Rohan wasn't just Karan's loyal friend—he was becoming someone she could rely on too.
Karan's Growing Respect for Meera
Karan, who had remained mostly quiet during the discussion, observed the subtle shifts in the group dynamics. His eyes flickered to Meera, who had always been Tejasswi's closest confidante. Over time, his initial indifference toward her had shifted—he now saw her as more than just Tejasswi's friend. She was reliable, smart, and fiercely loyal. And tonight, her unwavering support for Tejasswi had earned his respect.
"Kya soch rahe ho, Karan?" Meera asked, catching his gaze.
Karan gave a small, genuine smile. "Bas yeh soch raha hoon ke tum sach mein achi dost ho, Meera. Tejasswi ko tumhare jaisa support chahiye. Tumhari jagah samajhne laga hoon main."
Meera smiled back, surprised by the sincerity in his tone. "Tum pehle kabhi aise baat nahi karte."
Karan shrugged. "Log badalte hain."
Rohan, noticing the exchange, grinned. "Lagta hai tum dono ki friendship mein naye chapters likhe ja rahe hain."
Karan chuckled, and even Meera couldn't help but laugh, the tension of the evening easing as their little group settled into a more comfortable rhythm.
