three years later...
Lily
The soft glow of morning light filtered through the bedroom curtains, slowly waking me up.
I rolled over checking the time on my bedside clock, it was still early, not even 7AM. I quietly slipped out of bed, keeping my footsteps light, careful not to wake a peacefully sleeping Paige. The open plan kitchen and living room was glowing with the rising sun and like every morning, I took a moment to appreciate the Los Angeles skyline.
Paige and I had lived in LA together for over a year now. Two years ago, Paige was drafted to the Los Angeles Sparks and moved to California immediately. I still had one year left at UConn so we battled in the trenches of a long distance relationship but what people say is true, distance really does make the heart grow fonder.
Everyday I spent on the other side of the country, away from Paige made me realise how much I love her and wanted to be with her forever. So once I graduated, it was obvious where I'd be going.
I switched the coffee machine on and got out two mugs for Paige and me. The machine hummed softly as it brewed and the smell of coffee began to spread throughout the apartment.
"Good morning, pretty girl." Paiges husky morning voice spoke from behind me.
I turned around to look at my girlfriend, she looked ethereal in the morning light. Her blonde hair, highlighted in the perfect places, fell messily over one of her shoulders and her eyes looked especially blue today. She was dressed in just her underwear, a black sports bra and black boxers, her perfectly toned stomach on show.
"Good morning, baby." I reply, my eyes never once breaking their focus on her abs, they've always been a weak point for me and Paige knows it.
"My eyes are up here." She says taking calculated steps towards me and once she's in reaching distance, she wastes no time in slipping both hands underneath her oversized t-shirt I'm wearing as pyjamas and placing them on my ass. A hand on each cheek.
"My bad, good morning baby." I say again, this time making a point of looking directly into her eyes and I see a glint of something familiar and my stomach flips as Paige slowly shakes her head.
"Uh huh. It is your bad but the thing is Lily, you need to be a good girl." She says, her head dipping so she's whispering in my ear, her breath hot on my neck, "Don't you?"
My breathing hitches at her tone and I struggle to find words.
"Don't you?" She asks again, spinning me around so my front is pushed up against the kitchen counter, her body flush against my back.
