Clanks, shuffles, and voices were the noises that brought Dominique out of consciousness. A resounding headache left her wincing as she tried to raise her head. She looked around her surroundings and discovered she was in a kind of cell. The barricades were made of wood, strong wood by the looks of it.

Lifting her head properly, a strong stench hit her nose, and she wrenched. Her once aching head tripled with pain as she heaved her stomach content, which was nothing. Judging by the time of day, she had gone almost forty-eight hours without food. The thought of food irritated her at the moment, having seen the cause of the smell.

Right by the corner of the cell was a bucket containing human feces. She assumed that it was supposed to be a toilet. Scanning the rest of the room, her eyes rested on the dried blood stains on the walls, there was what looked like vomit close to her feet, and the sandy ground did things to her feet.

Knowing she wouldn't survive the cell in her consciousness, Dominique got up and pushed the barricades, threatening hell on earth against whoever locked her up.

She paused her tirade when she noticed a group of men dressed like her captors but with more weapons on them. They were hurdled over a body on the ground. It seemed like a wounded warrior, and he was bleeding fast. Dominique thought he might die if they did nothing other than stand there and scream 'healer'.

A girl rushed to the group of men and bent down to check the wounded man. She was probably in her teens, too young and inexperienced, Dominique observed.

Confirming her thoughts, the girl spoke, " I am sorry Droco, I cannot heal him. I do not have the experience. "

"You must heal him. He is the King's nephew! He must not die!" One of the men shouted at the frightened girl whom Dominique thought had probably never seen blood in her life. The girl started to cry begging them that she couldn't heal the wounded warrior. How was she the healer if the sight of blood made her squirm?

Dominique watched in shock as the men bickered at each other leaving the dying man- dying.

She considered ignoring them, but knowing her, she could never let a man die even if she hated him. So, Dominique did what any doctor would do in her position.

"Hey! Hey! You're killing him!" Screaming above their voices to be heard, Dominic shook the barricade stronger, trying to call their attention.

"You guys are killing him, I can help!" But nobody was listening to her. The little healer girl was forced to move the body as she tried to do what she couldn't.

Dominique tried one more time, "Stop touching him, you are killing him! I can heal him!"

Those words sliced through them, halting their arguments. Turning to her in unison, one of them asked, "You can heal the King's nephew?" She recognized him, it was the third guy who wanted her dead in the forest.

"He doesn't have much time; you've wasted enough arguing gibberish. Release me right now and I could use the little time left to save him."

Someone started to protest the idea, but the man grabbed a bunch of keys from another warrior standing guard in another cell.

"The prisoner has magic. I saw her incapacitate Droco Veitch with a little metal. Perhaps she can heal the King's nephew."

Dominique was surprised that these people did not know guns or what they were used for. Where in the world did she find herself?

She moved back to let the guy open the gate, which took longer than necessary due to their complex locks.

"Woman, do not try to trick us. Those men out there are not like us. They will slice your head off if you try to run." He said, giving her allowance to walk through.
