"Another X-factor audition?"

"Who does he think he is?"

"Rejects always think they are something special..."

Liam chewed on celery as his peers openly gossiped. Trying his hand at the popular reality show may have been a secret for Senior Payne but not for the entirety of Wolverhampton.

They knew about his wants and desires, which made bullying all the more interesting. He scored first place at the towns showcase? So what. He'd just made a fool of himself even attempting.

Being sixteen years old amidst chasing a dream that failed time and time again made you a loser. This however didn't stop Liam; merely made him feel invigorated.

While rubbing off leftover peanut butter that had fell onto said Polo, someone tapped on his shoulder causing the valiant brunette to still.

"Um... Yeah?"

"Nothing, Payne. How's everything going? You know. Considering you'll earn another boot from the judges?"

God. Why couldn't they leave him alone? Staring his blonde classmate in the face Liam shrugged.

"You never really meet Simon and company until you pass the first round of panels."

"Whatever. Listen. You didn't hear it from me, but... Dani has a massive crush on you. Me and the boys don't think you have enough guts to ask her out."

Ugh. Even the world's dumbest person knew to ignore Gary. He only wanted a rise out of those below him and got pleasure out of causing pain.

If Dani truly liked him though... Proving something to the rude peer might be worth it...

Instantly hitting hard concrete and brushing off tan pants, Liam stood atop his lone table, preparing to do something totally brash but up his alley.
