"Hm..." Napoleon hummed as he stood in front of the open window, breathing in the soft morning air that breezed through the winds, through his thoughts. It was a "decent" morning. He had just woken up in his apartment. Or should I say, their apartment.
Junot, one of his roommates and closest friends, was sitting on a chair, holding a quill in front of a desk and some paper. He must have been writing something. A letter, perhaps?
Napoleon didn't really bother checking. He had just returned from captivity a few days ago after Junot and their other roommate, Marmont attempted to break him out when there was no need.

[Some day in August, 1794]
It has been days since Junot visited Napoleon in prison and offered an audacious plan to break him out. But Napoleon had simply refused, probably thinking it was ridiculous. Junot was now in their apartment, just sitting on a stool.
"What if he actually gets under the guillotine..?" he thought. Groaning in exasperation, Junot tried his best not to pull his hair out. "Auguste, what do you think happened to Napoleon?" he said to Marmont in a rather stressed-out tone.
Marmont, who seemed calmer than his "very sane" colleague, replied "I am and I ensure you that he is alright as he said so, Junot. I am also sure he wasn't murdered with a kitchen knife while he was sleeping, Junot." adding a tone of sarcasm at the last part.
Junot didn't mind it--or even notice it. His mind just kept walking in circles, worried the hell out of the thought that Napoleon would be convicted guilty over nothing just because he talked with and breathed near a brother of a certain Jacobin revolutionary by the name of Maximilien Robespierre.
He continued to sit on the stool and simply buried his head in his hands. Sighs left his mouth, feeling a bit blue.
"My friend, why are you always like this when Bonaparte's away and all? And how do you even sleep at night?" Marmont asked, noticing Junot's "subtle" blues. Junot let out another sigh, slowly looking up at Marmont, facing him.
"I-" He dropped his head on the desk without thought, his face hitting the still-wet ink on the paper. "I don't know, there's just-...Something." he finally replied. Marmont simply shook his head slightly. "Uhuh...Right."
He leaned on the front door, just chilling there, when suddenly there was an unexpected knock on the door. "Who's that..?" Junot asked, finally lifting up his head from the desk, fidgeting a bit in his seat.
"I'll go and check," Marmont responded with yet another sigh.
He opened the door, seeing a messenger. Marmont cocked his brow (or should I say unibrow) and went on and asked, "From who, and for who, please?"
The delivery man showed an envelope, replying "From a..." he tried to read the name it was from. "A General 'Bon Appetit'..?" Marmont grimaced a bit and grabbed the letter with a slight sigh.
If Junot were the one who heard that, he would probably go even more nuts than he already is or so. But to his luck as the door was open, Junot did hear those words.
Junot stood up with his eyes slightly twitching from slight frustration as he grabbed the envelope from Marmont's hands and facing the delivery man and reads the name. He was relieved a bit from who it came from, but then went on to sputter at the poor delivery man.
"It's BONAPARTE...Sir." he blurted out, a bit mad from the mispronunciation. The mailman looked guilty and looked down, still facing Junot. "A-Ah, pardon me, sir..." he mumbled, slowly looking back at Junot.
"...You...You've got a little bit of something on your face, sir..." he added. Junot was confused.
"What do you mean?"
"Just- On your cheek sir-..."
It went a bit awkward. Junot reaches to his cheek and feels something wet, looking at his hand, and sees ink. A splotch of wet ink. "...Right." It was the ink his head landed on back at the desk. "...Should I go now, sir-"
"Yes, you should, thanks." The mailman backed away as Junot closed the door, staining the handle a bit from the ink on his hand.
He looks at his fingers, now staining the envelope in the process as well. He just ignores it as he slowly opens the envelope, curious about what Napoleon had delivered.
Was it a letter saying he's going to get executed by tomorrow? Or confessing his undying love before doing so? Or neither and Napoleon just wanted to say that he's safe and going home tomorrow or something like that.
He gently pulls out the paper in the envelope and reads what it contains. A wide and mirthful smile appeared on his face, teeth showing as he continued reading.
Marmont notices this and asks, "What's up with that smile of yours?" Junot lifts his head from reading and slowly walks up to Marmont, stretching his hand to show the letter to him.
"It's Napoleon!" he squealed. "He said he will come back! Napoleon was right..!" Marmont smiled as well at the good news Napoleon's head won't be Napole-off his shoulders. As well as the fact Junot was happy.
Marmont placed the letter on the desk as he goes and do whatever he was doing.

Junot's patience has been worth every second spent.
