Chapter 22 {Back from the Future}

After taking care of the executioners The Rescue Team has eventually found a way out of the Abyss Dungeon where they are confronted with the hooded person Jellal suspected to be Zeref...

The person in front of them then begins to cry asking for the Rescue Team's help... The voice of the person was a dead giveaway of who it was... but how? Lucy is with them? So how?

As the Team questions it, the person reveals her Hood confirming that it is Lucy... from the future. Who then faints from exhaustion... The Team wondered if they should help her untill natsu snapped at them that it is Lucy. As real as theirs...

Natsu then picked up the Future Lucy and they've made their way out of the Abyss Dungeon. And launch a Flare signaling that Lucy is safe...

While Inside Mercurius, the rescue team, having gotten lost inside the massive castle, wonders about their next course of action. As a worried Lucy looks over her future counterpart, she suddenly wakes up and begins wondering where she is. Learning she's inside the castle, she recalls her memory which tells her that after escaping Abyss Palace, they get captured again since they came across the Eclipse Machine and couldn't use Magic, resulting in them being sent back to jail. Wendy asks her why she came to the past, to which she states that she did so to change the worst possible future, alarming the Mages.

The rescue team wonders what could be behind the upcoming events while Natsu tries to pick up weapons to fight. Carla suddenly recalls her vision and realizes that, in it, Lucy was screaming rather than singing. Asking what happened to them in the future, Carla is met with silence, which the others interpret as meaning their death. The future Lucy explains that after the attack, she came back in time, but only to July 4, due to Eclipse being broken. She tells the group to use an underground passage to meet Jellal, who would be creating a strategy, apologizing for not having one. Arcadios recalls the princess telling him someone told her that Eclipse could be used against the Dragons in what would be known as Phase 2. As he wonders why she lied about not having a strategy, as well as the date she arrived, Natsu thanks her, promising to protect the future.

They then begin to make their way to the underground path and eventually fo make it there with Future Lucy's help

While going through it, the rescue team is confronted by the army. Natsu readies to fight, but the group notices that Yukino and Arcadios have disappeared. Rather than fight, Mirajane leaves to find Yukino while the rest fight the army.

Inside Mercurius, Natsu, Loke and Wendy continue to attack the guards. As Panther Lily moves in to attack, he is stopped by an acid attack from Neppa of Garou Ķnights. The rest of the Garou Knights arrive as well, telling the Mages not to underestimate them. Kama, their leader arrives as well, stating he won't let them leave.Elsewhere in the castle, Arcadios puts on a suit of white armor and heads to meet the princess, stating to himself that since the Lucy of the future wasn't lying, the princess was.

Meanwhile at the Same time, Team Grand Magic Games is being congratulated on winning... However the team has been more worried about their rescue team, asking each other if anyone has seen the flare... nobody has...

Sting then asks them why Natsu wasn't participating which everyone hesitate to answer as Shiro then looks at the castle and whispers... "Wendy... Natsu... please be safe..."

Back in the castle... The group is met with more guards... As the Intervension of Garou Knights has made things a lot more complicated... when the team was on the verge of being overwhelmed the Shadows in the corridor begin to swallow everyone except for the Fairy Tail Members.

Meanwhile as Arcadios catches up to Princess hisui and the Defense Minister he then reveals everything he has learned... He then takes out his sword and Hands it to Hisui... telling the princess that if his claims against the Royals is unjust... She is free to take his life... As he then asks the princess who told her of the future as well as mentioning Future Lucy and her Uncertianities...

Shocked Hisui then reveals that it was not future Lucy that she was in contact with... but someone else...

Back in the corridors, the rescue team hear someone coming toward them. Natsu calls out for the person to identify themselves and he does, revealing himself as Rogue and claiming that he came from the future.

Surprised to see the man claiming to be Rogue from the future, the Mages question why he came back to the past.

He then reveals to the group that in his future. Dragons Rule and humanity is near extinction... He mentions that the Eclipse Gate was be able to stop the dragons however someone prevented the Eclipse from being used and so he came to the past to kill that person...

With this said... Future Rogue launched an attack at Lucy saying that she MUST die... However, his attack is intercepted by Lucy's future counterpart, who takes the blow, much to everyone's surprise.

Injured, she falls to the ground, claiming she'd have never done such a thing. As she dies, the future Lucy tells the others not to cry for her, but they say otherwise since she is still their Lucy. Saying she wished to travel with them, the Lucy of the future dies as her Fairy Tail comrades shed tears

While Rogue still believing that Lucy will cause doom in the future, attacks again but before he can do so, he is sent flying by Natsu, who tells him he will protect the future.
