Sheza squirmed in her place, stirring from her sleep as she fluttered her eyes open. The room was bathed in a gentle, silver glow from the moonlight, casting soft, shimmering shadows like diamonds across the room. Slowly, she raised her head and found herself nestled against Saad's chest, his soft, tan jaw resting peacefully above her. She realized that her head was tucked securely under his chin, his arm loosely wrapped around her waist while the other acted as her pillow.

A small, admiring smile crept onto her lips, her eyes brightening as she shifted slightly to look at him more closely. His face, in its relaxed state, looked innocent and almost boyish, his usual stern features softened by sleep. She giggled quietly to herself, finding his sleeping form endearing. Gently, she raised a finger to trace the outline of his jaw, her touch featherlight. Saad remained still, unmoved by her caress, reminding her of how exhausted he was. He had spent the whole day looking after her, making sure she was comfortable, as attentive as ever, much like how a mother cares for her child.

But just as she smiled at the thought, a sharp pain struck her lower region, making her expression change from adoration to discomfort. She sighed deeply, recognizing the familiar ache and the reason behind it. Of course, it's that time, she thought to herself, resigned.

Sheza sighed again, this time more weary, as she began to carefully disentangle herself from Saad's warm embrace. The dramatic little whine that left her lips as she moved away was involuntary—she hated leaving the comfort and safety of his arms. He stirred only slightly, still lost in his deep sleep.

Finally managing to stand on her feet, Sheza gingerly lifted the blanket, her heart racing slightly in anticipation. Relief washed over her when she saw that the sheets were unstained. A soft smile tugged at her lips, glad that at least one worry could be brushed aside.

She tiptoed across the room toward the bathroom, making sure not to wake Saad. As she moved, she cast one last glance at him. There was something about seeing him asleep—so calm, so gentle—that filled her with warmth. He had always been her protector, her rock, but seeing him so vulnerable like this only made her heart swell more.

He really does look after me like no one else, she thought as she disappeared into the restroom, her steps quiet as the night lingered softly around them both. After finishing in the restroom, Sheza returned to the bedroom, feeling a bit lighter. Her eyes landed on the digital clock on Saad's nightstand, the soft glow revealing it was 3:30 a.m. The room was quiet, with only the faint sounds of Saad's gentle breathing filling the air.

Her gaze shifted toward the balcony, where the trees outside swayed gracefully in the breeze, their movements rhythmic and soothing. She smiled to herself, feeling a strange pull toward the peaceful scene outside.

With light steps, she made her way to the balcony door, glancing at Saad every few seconds to ensure she wasn't disturbing him. His breathing remained steady, and he didn't stir. Confident he was still fast asleep, Sheza quietly opened the door, slipping outside into the cool night.
