'Suspicious Acts'

Heading into work the next day is pretty hectic, It's Thursday morning that's when all the truckers come in for a quick brunch and head back on the road. Calliope slips on her apron and starts waiting tables.
A couple that looks in their 60s sits down in the last open spot in Calliope's corner. She heads over with a smile and two menus.
"Good morning, my name is Calliope, and I'll be your server today. Can I start you off with some drinks?"
The woman on the left side of the booth gives her a toothy/toothless smile. Her husband is on the right side giving the menu a look over. "Can I have some tea, dear?"
She nods, writing down the order on her notepad. The man orders an orange juice. Calliope steps away to get their order. The TV above the bar starts playing the news; curtesy of a younger gentleman seated in front of it. The news is talking about a disease that is spreading, starting in Detroit. Calliope places the drinks at the couple's table and walks away, Before she tends her other tables she takes a moment to listen to the information on the news.
There is no way it's that serious right?

"Wait, wait. Excuse me."
"Where's my son?"
Travis and Maddison both try to get answers from the nurse at the front desk about where Nick went.
"I don't know, His roommate coded. There was a second death on the floor it was chaotic." The nurse tries to explain to them.
Calliope rolls the cart out of a patient's room with a smile on her face it quickly fades when she hears Maddison yelling. "You need to find him."
"You need to call the police; I'm sorry, he's gone." The nurse steps away to handle another issue on the floor.
Calliope tries to walk away without Maddison catching her eyes but just to her luck she does and she strolls over. "Do you know where Nick is?"
"Maddy,"
"Nope, not since last night. I just started my shift."
"Maddy, let's go."
"Can you just call me if you hear from him?"
"Yeah of course. Anything for Nicky." Even though Maddison and Calliope didn't like each other, they would both do anything for Nick without even realizing how much damage it might cause.
