The College Experience

Part 6

The door opened and in came my mom, dad and Tyler.

Tyler looked at Kat, "Is she ready?"

Kat nodded and Tyler came over and lifted my arm and let it drop. He turned to Kat, "How long do we have?"

"It's a twenty-four-hour containment spell so she should be good until the full moon is over."

I laughed, "Yall are really playing this all the way out aren't you?"

Mom put her hand on my shoulder, "Sweetheart this would really be easier if you would just listen and believe us. We are so sorry it had to be this way. This is why we never told you before."

Kat spoke up, "We don't have long now." Mom, dad and Tyler looked at her like she was crazy, and she laughed, "I'm sorry I forgot you would know better than anyone."

I could feel an anger welling up in me like I had never felt before. I was filled with such a rage and I didn't even know why or at who. I felt like I wanted to tear the world apart, but I couldn't move.

Tyler asked Kat, "Are you sure that spell is going to hold?"

Kat shook her head and held out a syringe, "If it doesn't then someone is going to need to give her this."

Mom and dad looked at Tyler and dad said, "It has to be you. She will forgive you."

Tyler questioned, "What is it?"

Kat hung her head slightly, "Its wolf's bane. It won't hurt her, but it will weaken her."

Tyler laughed, "Oh trust me I know all about it."

I struggled to break free and started to hear a growl. My mouth started to feel like someone was pulling all of my teeth out at once.

Tyler hollered at Kat, "Give me a mirror! NOW!!"

She handed him the mirror and he held it in front of my face. I started to see fangs and my hair growing at a very fast rate and suddenly my eyes started to glow a golden yellow.

I heard Kat scream, "Its time!" as the anger in my body came bursting out.

I felt a jolt and collapsed as quickly as I had broken free. I could hear everything going on around me but couldn't move or open my eyes.

"I put the spell back on. With her being in a weakened state it should hold this time." I heard Kat say.

Tyler stated, "I sure hope so. She is terrified and there is nothing I can do to fix it."

I heard mom and dad excuse themselves and I drifted off into a dream world yet again.

"Tyler why are you doing this to me? Why are you trying so hard to convince me I'm crazy? Is it to much to ask that I be allowed to live my life in peace?"

"(yn) you have to understand. You have to listen to me. We want you to live your life. We don't want you to be locked up anymore..." he hesitated, "Well except on full moons until you are able to control it but in order to do that you have to listen, understand and accept that the life as you knew it is over." He wrapped his arms around me. "How can I get you to understand? Why do you not trust your feelings? You can't tell me this is one sided."

I looked up at him, "Tyler I just don't understand. It just doesn't make sense...any of it."

He smiled at me, and I was lost in his dimples when he said, "Do me one favor. When you wake up just give me the chance to show you that this is real and that your body is not lying to you. Just promise you will keep an open mind."
