A Beautiful Night's View (part 2)

Chapter 8

Jonghyun receives a text from the producers of 'Embrace your Hobbies' his nervousness once again begins to exceed normal levels. He peers outside the window of the black van, the town of Gapdong becomes visible. Jonghyun adjusts his purple hat and cleans his black squared glasses, neatening his overall look. The manager sitting beside Jonghyun gives him an overview of the filming schedule and what to expect. "So today you will be meeting with the first guest that you had interviewed, we will take a tour around her place and see how her life is like and how she incorporates her many hobbies into her daily routine. Filming could take around a handful of hours." Jonghyun takes all the information in and prepares himself for the worst. Jonghyun steps onto the freshly cut grass and makes his way towards the entrance of the horse ranch. His eyes catch the behind of a beautiful woman, she is wearing a mild yellow, knee-length, daisy printed, summer dress. Her matching coloured hair flow freely from behind, the petite figure reaches up to the large horse stroking it's mane. Jonghyun goes up to her. "I see you have made an effort to look good for filming today, or do you usually look this good everyday?" The woman turns to face the commentator. "Jonghyun! You, complimenting me?! That's so nice of you...and a little unexpected to say the least." Jonghyun is shocked to see Tiana, he made a grave mistake but didn't have much to do in order to rectify it. All he could do was take his hat of and play with it to kill time. "We should start filming now."

Jonghyun turns professional when the cameras are rolling. "Hi fellow viewers! We are here to witness the several other hobbies Miss Tiana has in her daily life. Judging from the place we are in today I think she likes to work with horses. Am I right Miss?" Tiana finds Jonghyun's MC voice a little amusing and with a giggle she replies. "Yes of course. My recent occupation is working with horses. I help raise and train them for horse racing. The main focus today is on the rare pure breed of horse called Black pearl." She points at a beautiful female horse with an unusual contrast of a black body coat and a blonde mane. Jonghyun looks at the horse in awe. "Wow she is truly beautiful." Tiana smirks as she blurts out a very exciting but potentially dangerous idea. "Well since you admittedly agree that Black Pearl is quote 'truly beautiful', why not try riding her? She is well-trained and safe. I assure you if I  lead her as you ride her, there will be no cause for havoc." The producers give Tiana a thumbs up. Jonghyun trembles in fear. "I am not worthy of this opportunity. Please let me off." Jonghyun whines as he knew he had to do this challenge now because the producers wanted more ratings. What could engage the viewers more than the sight of Jonghyun scared while riding a horse? The spotlight turns on an armed Jonghyun wearing protecting gear with a helmet. He sits on the saddle adjusting his posture as Tiana demonstrates the best posture for sitting on a horse. He watches her closely and follows her. Jonghyun's tight grasp is on the horse' reins. Black Pearl starts to move as Tiana leads her forward. "Ah! It's too fast! I'm scared." Jonghyun is full of fear, his mouth opens wide and pupils dilate. "Do not worry MC, this is the average rate many horses move. There is nothing to fear." Tiana's soothing voice calms down the petrified Jonghyun. Further along the ride Jonghyun's fear face turns relaxed and calm. "This is beginning to be quiet fun." Tiana proud of Black Pearl pats her. "See I told you. There was nothing to fear."

It had come to a break for the shoot. Jonghyun notices Tiana had put on a familiar looking purple hat. "Excuse me but you are wearing my hat. I want it back." Tiana holds onto the hat. "No this is my hat. We have similar hats in appearance. You left your hat near the bench when you changed into the protective gear and put on the helmet." Jonghyun stubbornly dismisses Tiana's words. "No. I am sure you are wearing my hat." He takes it from her. Tiana latches onto to it. Both play a tug of war game with the poor hat. Jonghyun uses his full force to snatch the hat away from Tiana's hand, she falls back onto the ground. "How dare you! Look at what state you have left me in! How rude of you!" She gets herself up and her hands reach behind her dress. A brown mush ends up on her fingers. "ARGH!" Jonghyun sees the smelly horse dung that had stained her dress. "HA! You deserve it for stealing my hat from me." Tiana squeals in frustration and runs to change her clothing and wash the horse litter off herself. She borrows some jean overalls and a red chequered shirt from the spare clothing for workers on the ranch. Jonghyun sits on the bench under the blue sky. He notices a clone of the hat in his hand next to him. "Oh shit!" His outlook on people he deemed to be untrustworthy had backfired on him. He remembers her sorry look for what she had done in the past and her asking for forgiveness at the first shoot. The cold behaviour he was faking was not like his true self. Jonghyun sighs as the breeze runs through his blonde hair scattering it apart. He puts on his hat and holds Tiana's hat in his hands, looking down at it. 

The manager runs up to Jonghyun. "Breaks over come on let's go to the next site. You have work pending." The camera man makes a sleek turn and zooms in to a cute, brown puppy whose large eyes peek directly at the daunting camera. Then the camera moves upwards facing Jonghyun. "Hi and we are back. The animal shelter in Gapdong helps treat over 500 ill, animals and for them to find a nice, loving owner and become home pets. While they are residing in the shelter many caretakers and experts work together to help the animals. Tiana is just one of the special volunteers who deems the animals to be one of her deeply held passion. So talk to us about your experience here." Jonghyun listens as he bends down and pets the puppy next to him. "Honestly this is a very sad thing for me to talk about. Unfortunately the mundane dog suffered from many illnesses when I had found it abandoned. I helped the dog and provided it with sufficient amount of love, care and nutrition until it reached the last moments of it's life. As the dog was being buried I found that I had overlooked the way in which humans treat animals with such cruelty, as thought we are superior to them. At that moment I had an overwhelming feeling that I would one day help these animals to make up for the wrongdoings that other people had committed. It is my self satisfaction and my own personal way in giving back to the world." Jonghyun had somewhat immersed himself into her words that he had become emotional. He also loved his pet dog and could sympathise with Tiana. He felt as thought he hadn't emotionally connecting with others after the past incidence and wanted to change. This new way of thinking was a turning point for him and a good learning experience. Jonghyun continues with many other relevant questions and the film crew wrap up for the day.

Tiana looks at Jonghyun expectantly. "Return my hat back to me, right now." Jonghyun noticed her stern voice portrayed how serious she was at the moment. "I am truly sorry. It was a huge misunderstanding and I admit I was wrong. Please forgive me." Tiana takes her hat from his hands and contemplates for a while. "Forgiveness is not in words, it is in the heart. Yes I do forgive you. I hope you are able to find that you can do the same for me and forgive the larger mistakes I made before. I have realised my intent and goal was derived from greed and were wrong. I was not aware you liked me and that I had in fact toyed with your emotions. If you find it in your heart and are willing to move onto new aspects in life then it would make you a more respectable and wise human being." She caresses his hand briefly showing signs of mutualism. He is moved by her impeccable choice of words. "You know what. You're right. I forgive you and I believe in you...and I think...I still have feelings for you..." He returns the hand caress surprising Tiana.
