It had been a week since the success of the Geminifourth concert. Fourth was still basking in the afterglow of their sold-out show, the energy from their performances, and the joy of seeing their fans so happy. The chemistry between him and Gemini was undeniable on stage, and it had been talked about all over social media. People couldn't stop praising their bond, their harmony. But life went on, and Fourth's schedule was packed. Meetings, rehearsals, and promotional events filled his afternoons. So when his day got particularly busy, he asked Gemini if he could pick Leo up from daycare.
"Nothing special, just pick him up, take him home, and I'll be there as soon as I can," Fourth had said, trusting Gemini with the simple task. After all, Gemini was great with Leo, and he had done it before.
It was a quiet evening when Fourth finally came home. Leo was already settled, playing with his toys in the living room, and Gemini was lounging on the couch, scrolling through his phone. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary. They had dinner, watched a movie, and Gemini left a few minutes after. There were no signs that anything was amiss.
Until the next morning.
Fourth woke up to his phone buzzing non-stop. At first, he thought it was just another busy day—fans tagging him in posts, event updates, the usual notifications. But the sheer volume of missed calls and messages was alarming. His phone was flooded with Twitter tags, article links, and comments. What caught his eye most were the missed calls—20 of them from Gemini. His messages were in disarray, the last one reading: "It's not what it looks like."
His heart skipped a beat. Something was wrong.
Fourth immediately opened one of the message links. His eyes scanned the headline: "Gemini Spotted with Prim and a Child: Mystery Unraveled!"
What?
His fingers trembled as he scrolled down, a pit forming in his stomach. The article described how Gemini and Prim had been seen together, casually buying ice cream from a street vendor. But that wasn't what set Fourth off. It was the mention of a child. The article speculated about the identity of the child, saying that the child's face had been blurred out in the pictures but appeared to be about two years old. Fourth's heart raced faster as he scrolled further, looking for the photos.
And there it was. The photo that made his blood boil.
Gemini, standing beside his car, a cheerful smile on his face as he held out ice cream cones. Prim was beside him, and in her arms—Leo. Fourth didn't need to see his son's face to recognize him. The way he held his little body, his messy hair poking out of his beanie, the tiny hand gripping Prim's arm—Fourth knew Leo anywhere.
His vision blurred with rage. How could this happen? His thoughts were running wild. The internet was already in a frenzy, speculating about why Gemini had been with Prim, why they had Leo with them, and of course, adding fuel to the fire of rumors about Gemini and Prim's relationship. But none of that mattered to Fourth.
All he cared about was his son's safety.
Fourth's hands clenched around his phone. He immediately called Gemini, but the other line went straight to voicemail. He tried again, his anger bubbling up inside him. How could Gemini let this happen? Why was Leo with Prim? The last thing Fourth wanted was for Leo to be dragged into their world of fame and gossip, especially without his knowledge.
Pacing the room, Fourth fumed. He hadn't told anyone about Leo outside of their inner circle for a reason. He was fiercely protective of his son's privacy. He didn't want Leo to become a target of media attention or speculation, and now, because of Gemini's carelessness, that was exactly what was happening.
By the third missed call, Fourth was done waiting. He grabbed his keys and stormed out of his apartment, driving straight to Gemini's place. His mind was spinning, a mixture of fury, betrayal, and concern clouding his judgment. He knew he needed answers—now.
When Fourth arrived at Gemini's apartment, he barely took the time to knock before letting himself in with the spare key Gemini had given him months ago. He found Gemini pacing the living room, his own phone in hand, clearly trying to reach Fourth.
"Fourth—" Gemini started, but he didn't get a chance to finish.
"What the hell were you thinking?" Fourth's voice was sharp, laced with fury. He could barely keep himself from yelling. "You let Prim hold Leo? In public?!"
Gemini's face paled. "It's not what it looks like, I swear—"
"Then what is it?" Fourth's voice was dangerously low now. He was trying to keep himself calm, but the rage was simmering just beneath the surface. "You didn't tell me you were taking Leo out with her. You didn't tell me you were going to take him anywhere except straight home!"
"I wasn't planning on it," Gemini said quickly, his hands held up defensively. "I went to pick him up, just like you asked, and we were heading home. But then I ran into Prim on the way—"
"And you thought it was a good idea to stop for ice cream?" Fourth's eyes flashed with disbelief. "With Leo? You know how protective I am of him. You know I don't want him in the public eye!"
"I didn't plan on it," Gemini repeated, looking genuinely distressed. "It just happened. We were talking, and she suggested getting something sweet for Leo, and I didn't think—"
"Exactly, you didn't think," Fourth snapped. "You put my son's safety at risk. Do you have any idea what the internet is saying right now? They're speculating about my son, Gem. Leo's pictures are all over Twitter, even with his face blurred out. How could you be so careless?"
Gemini ran a hand through his hair, guilt written all over his face. "I messed up. I know I did, but I swear I didn't mean to. I didn't think anyone would care—it was just a quick stop."
Fourth clenched his fists, his whole body tense. He couldn't believe how reckless Gemini had been. This wasn't just about the rumors or the internet speculation. This was about Leo's safety. The one thing Fourth had always made clear was that Leo came first, always, and now Gemini had jeopardized that.
"I trusted you," Fourth said, his voice quieter now, but still burning with anger. "I trusted you with Leo. And this—this is how you repay that trust?"
Gemini stepped forward, his expression pleading. "I'm sorry, Fourth. I swear, it won't happen again. I'll fix this. I'll talk to the media, clear things up, do whatever I can to make sure this doesn't blow up any more than it already has."
But Fourth wasn't ready to hear apologies. He wasn't ready to forgive. Not when his son's safety was involved.
"Fix it," he said coldly, his eyes locking with Gemini's. "And stay away from Leo until you do."
With that, Fourth turned on his heel and left, the door slamming shut behind him.
Gemini stood there, stunned, as the weight of what he had done settled in. He had never meant for any of this to happen. He had just been trying to be kind, trying to make a simple moment special. But now he had messed up, and in doing so, he had hurt the one person who mattered most to him.
And now, he had to figure out how to make things right before it was too late.
