Phuwin stared at the three positive tests lined up on his bathroom counter, the truth spelled out in silent, undeniable clarity. He'd known, somewhere deep in his heart, that something had changed—something he couldn't explain or wish away. But the confirmation was overwhelming, an avalanche of emotions crashing down on him all at once.

He felt a tear slip down his cheek, but strangely, it was accompanied by a smile. A smile that trembled, that held both fear and joy, loss and hope, as he absorbed the reality before him. He was pregnant. His hand drifted unconsciously to his stomach, resting over the new life forming within him. And yet, the knowledge of who the father was made that joy bittersweet.

He wiped his face and took a steadying breath, opening the bathroom door. Fourth was waiting on the other side, looking up the second the door clicked open. One look at Phuwin's tearful but radiant expression, and Fourth knew. He stepped forward, wrapping Phuwin in a gentle hug, feeling his friend's quiet, trembling breaths as they held onto each other.

They moved to the kitchen, where they sat down at the counter, a warm, familiar place that had seen countless conversations and shared moments between them. Tonight, though, the air was heavier, filled with words that were harder to say but too important to ignore.

"It's Pond's..." Phuwin murmured softly, his voice barely above a whisper. He managed a faint smile as he looked down, his hand still resting over his stomach. The weight of it was impossible to deny—the reality that the life growing inside him was a part of someone who was no longer part of his own.

Fourth's heart ached for him. He reached out, placing a hand on Phuwin's shoulder in silent support. "What are you going to do?" he asked gently, trying to keep his voice steady, to be the anchor his friend needed right now.

Phuwin took a shaky breath, his resolve hardening as he answered. "I'm going to keep it. But I'm not telling Pond anything. He made his choice... he chose her, not me. He won't be in my life, and he won't be in his either." His voice held a quiet but fierce determination, an echo of the heartbreak he'd already endured and the boundaries he was determined to set to protect himself and his unborn child.

Fourth watched him carefully, his eyes filled with a mixture of understanding and concern. "You know it won't be easy to keep this from him. You see each other almost every week for work. What if he notices? What if he figures it out?"

Phuwin shrugged, a shadow of uncertainty crossing his face, but he masked it quickly. "I'll figure it out. I have to. I can't let him come in and out of our lives whenever it's convenient for him. This baby deserves better than that." His hand instinctively went to his stomach again, an unconscious gesture that held more tenderness than words ever could.

Fourth reached over, placing his own hand on top of Phuwin's, just above the barely-there swell of his abdomen. They shared a quiet moment, an unspoken promise exchanged between them. Fourth's hand pressed lightly, as if saying hello to the tiny life that had already transformed Phuwin's world.

"You're not alone in this," Fourth whispered, his voice thick with emotion. "I'm here for you. Leo and I—we'll be here, every step of the way."

Phuwin's eyes softened, the gratitude evident in his gaze. He nodded, his voice barely a whisper. "Thank you, Fourth. That... that means everything."

The rest of the night passed in a comforting, quiet warmth. They returned to the living room, where Leo had already drifted off to sleep on the couch. Phuwin curled up beside him, feeling a strange sense of peace settle over him, and Fourth draped a blanket over them both. In that small, quiet apartment, surrounded by people who loved him, Phuwin felt a spark of hope for the first time in what felt like ages.

He stayed over that night and didn't leave until Monday morning, reluctant to leave the security and warmth of Fourth's presence. On Monday morning, Fourth offered to drive him to the hospital for a proper checkup. They dropped Leo off at kindergarten before heading to the clinic, laughter and small talk filling the car as they tried to keep things light. But when they arrived at the hospital, Fourth's phone buzzed insistently, an urgent call from the company.

He sighed, glancing apologetically at Phuwin. "I have to go, but I'll check in as soon as I can. Are you going to be okay?"

Phuwin nodded, offering a reassuring smile. "I'll be fine. I can handle it from here. Go do what you need to do."

Fourth squeezed his shoulder one last time before leaving, casting a lingering look of concern as he disappeared down the hall. Phuwin made his way to the doctor's office alone, his heart pounding with anticipation and nerves. He checked in, and after a few minutes, he was led into an examination room where the doctor greeted him warmly.

They went through the usual checks and questions before the doctor began the ultrasound. Phuwin watched the screen, his breath hitching as he caught the first glimpse of his baby. But then... the doctor's expression shifted slightly, a small, almost imperceptible smile breaking through her professionalism.

"You're having twins," she announced gently, turning the screen to give him a better view of the two tiny forms.

Phuwin's heart skipped a beat. Twins. The word echoed in his mind, filling him with a mixture of awe, wonder, and a touch of fear. But the awe quickly won out, spreading through him until he was almost dizzy with joy. His hand reached out to touch the screen, as if he could hold onto them through the barrier of the monitor. This was his family, his future. It felt daunting, yes, but also exhilarating.

He listened intently as the doctor explained everything, her tone shifting to a more serious note when she mentioned that his womb was thin and might not be able to support the twins to full term. "When you're about six months along, we'll need to perform a procedure to deliver the babies prematurely and place them in an incubator. It's the safest option to ensure they grow healthy," she explained gently, watching his reaction carefully.

Phuwin nodded, absorbing the information as best as he could. He was five weeks along now, but the road ahead was already becoming clearer—and more challenging—than he'd anticipated. But none of that diminished the warmth in his chest, the fierce love and determination blooming within him for these two lives he hadn't even met yet.

He paid for everything upfront, wanting to ensure there'd be no delays or uncertainties down the line. He arranged for VVIP services, sparing no expense when it came to the care of his unborn children.

As he stepped outside, he touched his stomach again, a soft smile playing on his lips. There was a quiet strength that filled him now, a sense of purpose that he hadn't felt in a long time. This was his reason, his drive. He was going to be a father, and nothing else mattered.

Phuwin took a deep breath, looking up at the bright morning sky. Whatever challenges lay ahead, he knew he could face them. For the first time in a long time, he felt ready to embrace the future, with all its uncertainties and possibilities. He wasn't just living for himself anymore; he had a new reason to push forward, to strive for a better life—a future filled with love, family, and the promise of something beautiful.

As he walked away from the hospital, he felt lighter than he had in years. This was the beginning of a new chapter, one he hadn't expected but welcomed with open arms. And though the road ahead would be difficult, he knew he would walk it with courage and hope. For his twins, for the life they would share, he would give everything he had.
