Three months had passed since Phuwin had discovered his pregnancy, and in that time, he had settled into a quiet, content rhythm of life. Pond was blissfully unaware, and so far, Phuwin's growing twins had yet to make their presence known to the world. With his naturally lean frame, he had managed to keep his condition concealed, which was a relief. His mother's words about her own pregnancy—how she hadn't shown with him until right before delivery—had reassured him that he might be able to keep his secret a while longer.Despite the secrecy, he wasn't alone. Fourth had been his rock through it all, constantly checking on him, offering his support, and even suggesting he move into the same high-end estate. With tight security, a safe environment, and Fourth living right next door, Phuwin felt like he had a fortress around him and his twins. He had made the move a few days ago and settled into his new three-bedroom apartment, a space that felt like the beginning of something extraordinary.
To celebrate, he decided to host a small housewarming gathering, inviting his closest friends: Fourth, Satang, and of course, Fourth's son, Leo. It was an intimate group, but to Phuwin, these people felt like family, and he wanted them to share in the joy of his new home.
That evening, as the last bit of sunlight faded, the cozy atmosphere inside Phuwin's apartment began to bloom. The space was filled with the soft glow of warm lights and the aroma of the food he'd prepared. Fourth arrived first, carrying Leo in his arms, who eagerly reached out as soon as he saw Phuwin. Phuwin chuckled, welcoming Leo with a big hug and ruffling his hair.
"Phi Phuwin, your house is so cool!" Leo exclaimed, his eyes wide as he looked around.
"Thanks, Leo. You can explore as much as you want, okay?" Phuwin replied with a grin. "Just don't get lost."
Fourth chuckled, giving Phuwin a gentle pat on the back. "It's perfect, Phuwin. Really. This place suits you."
"Thanks, Fourth. And thank you for pushing me to make this decision," Phuwin replied sincerely. "I feel safe here... and happy."
Shortly after, Satang arrived, carrying a small housewarming gift—a beautifully wrapped box with a scented candle inside. "Hey! Look at you, moving up in the world," Satang teased, pulling Phuwin into a quick hug. "Three bedrooms, huh? Planning on starting a soccer team?"
Phuwin laughed, shrugging nonchalantly. "Extra space never hurts, right? Plus, you know, Leo might need a playroom if he ever decides to stay over." He cast a quick glance at Fourth, who gave him a knowing smile.
They all settled in the living room, cozying up on the couch with a bowl of popcorn and drinks in hand. The TV was set to Netflix, and the four of them gathered around, each finding a comfortable spot. Leo nestled himself beside Phuwin, munching on popcorn and laughing at the light-hearted show they'd put on.
The evening flowed naturally, with laughter, shared stories, and the easy camaraderie of old friends. After some time, Phuwin, feeling the warmth of the moment, leaned back and looked at Satang thoughtfully.
"So, Satang," he began, a teasing glint in his eyes. "You're the only one in our group who doesn't have a kid. Do you think you'll ever... you know... want one?"
Satang snorted, rolling his eyes playfully. "Nope, not happening," he replied, popping a handful of popcorn into his mouth. "Winny and I talked about it a long time ago, and we both agreed it's just not for us. We're happy with our lives as they are."
Phuwin nodded, appreciating his honesty. "Fair enough. I think it's great that you both know what you want."
Satang shrugged, glancing over at Leo with a small smile. "Besides, I'm very happy being Leo's Godmother. And once your twins arrive, I'll gladly be their Godmother too," he declared with a wink.
They all burst into laughter, the room filled with genuine joy and shared amusement. Even Leo joined in, giggling without fully understanding the joke but happy to be included in the merriment.
After a moment, Phuwin nudged Satang with a smirk. "So, Godmother Satang, huh? I think it suits you."
Satang raised his imaginary crown and grinned. "Exactly! And I take my duties seriously. So, consider me on standby for all babysitting duties."
Fourth leaned back, chuckling. "You might regret offering that once Leo and the twins start teaming up to create chaos."
Satang waved a dismissive hand. "Please, I live for the chaos. Bring it on!"
The room erupted in laughter once more, and for a moment, Phuwin allowed himself to bask in the comfort of his friends. Here, he was safe. Here, he was surrounded by people who cared about him deeply, who had his back no matter what.
The night stretched on, and soon Leo began to yawn, his eyelids drooping as he leaned against Phuwin's side. Noticing, Fourth suggested they wind down for the evening. But before they could gather their things, Phuwin surprised them all with a suggestion.
"Why don't you guys just stay over?" he offered, smiling warmly. "I've got enough space, and it feels like old times. It'd be nice to have a full house for a night."
Fourth and Satang exchanged glances, both nodding in agreement. It wasn't often they all had the chance to spend time together like this, and the idea of a spontaneous sleepover felt perfect.
They quickly organized the sleeping arrangements, with Fourth and Leo taking the guest room, and Satang crashing on the pull-out sofa in the living room. Phuwin handed out blankets and pillows, making sure everyone was comfortable. They settled back in for one more episode, unable to resist the charm of their impromptu sleepover.
As the show played in the background, Leo curled up against Fourth, his tiny snores filling the room. Phuwin found himself glancing over at his friends, feeling a surge of gratitude. Here they were, sharing laughter, warmth, and memories—each of them part of his life in a way that made him feel safe and whole.
Eventually, one by one, they all began to drift off, the soft sounds of breathing filling the quiet apartment. Phuwin lay awake for a while, resting his hand on his stomach, where his twins rested, nestled deep within him.
"Look at that, you two," he whispered softly, a smile tugging at his lips. "You're already surrounded by love. This... this is our family."
With that comforting thought, Phuwin allowed his eyes to close, the weight of his secrets and worries momentarily lifting. He was home, surrounded by the people he trusted most, and in that moment, he felt nothing but hope and gratitude.
The next morning, the apartment was filled with the scent of coffee and pancakes as Phuwin quietly prepared breakfast. He moved around the kitchen with a gentle hum, the early morning sunlight filtering in through the curtains. It was peaceful, almost like a dream.
As everyone began to wake up, they gathered around the breakfast table, their laughter and conversation picking up where they'd left off the night before. Leo, still a little groggy, was more than happy to dig into his plate of pancakes, his face lighting up with joy.
Satang, eyeing the breakfast spread, let out a satisfied sigh. "You really know how to make a guy feel spoiled, Phuwin."
Phuwin chuckled, shrugging. "Only the best for my favorite Godmother."
Satang smirked, raising his coffee mug in a toast. "To friends, family, and whatever chaos these little ones bring our way."
Everyone joined in, clinking their mugs and cups together in a small but heartfelt toast. Phuwin looked around the table, feeling a sense of fulfillment he hadn't known he needed. This new chapter was only beginning, and he knew there would be challenges, but for now, in this moment, everything felt right.
As the morning sunlight poured into his new home, Phuwin felt an unshakeable sense of peace. He had his friends, his future, and his family—both the one he was born into and the one he was creating. No matter what lay ahead, he knew he would never be alone.
