kayleigh smiled as she shut off her phone, pulling out her lipgloss from her bag. she couldn't wait to see dylan, she made sure she looked her best as if they hadn't seen each other in years.
she applyed her lipgloss then returned it to her bag. she went downstairs and sat on the couch to put on her shoes.
"hey, malachi." she said, slipping her shoe on and tying the laces into a knot. "what are you doing here?"
"hey," he said, "just chilling." he looked at her then furrowed his brows. "where are you going?" he asked, 'with dylan' he predicted her answer, and he was correct.
"i'm going to dylan's house." she answered, focusing on her shoes. she had forgotten that she made a plan to stay with malachi the whole day. just them.
"i thought today was gonna be our day, remember?"
"oh shit." she sighed, "tomorrow okay?" she said, causing him to roll his eyes. she tied the knot on her other shoe then turned her focus to him.
"what do you see in him anyway?" he asked, looking back at the tv.
now it was kayleigh's turn to roll her eyes. it seemed like malachi always got frustrated at the mention of dylan's name, "i don't like him, we're just friends."
he didn't respond after that, she stared at him for a moment before turning away. "sure doesn't seem like it." he muttered, she squinted then opened her mouth to say something but she heard a buzz from her phone which completely made her forget what he had said. what they were even talking about.
she pulled out her phone then she saw a text from dylan, causing her to smile even though the message only told her that he was outside. "i'll see you later." she told malachi, standing up without a glance in his direction.
