"come on, are you ready?" ariana walked into kayleigh's room to find her laid on the bed in her dress and shoes.
"do i have to go?" kayleigh whined. ariana and xochitl had forced her to go to the party she hadn't even agreed to. they told her maybe she'd find someone else there, someone who would get her eyes off of malachi. she doubted that.
"yes, you do. come on." she pulled kayleigh up, she slouched and groaned. "kayleigh." ariana said, in a 'im getting mad' tone.
"okay, okay." she told her, pulling herself out of the bed and leaving the room.
"see isn't it nice to leave your room once in a while?" ariana teased.
"oh, shut up."
when they got to the party, kayleigh instantly wanted to leave. "let's not split up, guys." xochitl said once she saw how many people were there. they all agreed, making their way through the crowds.
they ended up in the kitchen, xochitl cracked open a beer, but she hadn't taken a sip yet. "you shouldn't be drinking that." kayleigh told her, xochitl shrugged. they continued to talk for a bit, the crowd in the kitchen got bigger.
"i'll be right back, hold this." xochitl said, handing kayleigh the beer and walking away without a word. ariana and kayleigh looked at each other, they both had confused looks on their faces.
"where is she going?" ariana asked, as if kayleigh would know.
"i have no idea." she answered her.
"should we follow her?"
"she's probably long gone by now." kayleigh said, ariana squinted then glanced back in the direction where xochitl had went.
"your probably right." ariana said, looking back at her. kayleigh looked around the party as if she was looking for someone, then she looked back at ariana when she said something. "what are you doing?"
"oh, you said malachi would be here right?" she asked, ari's confused look turned into a frown. "what?" she squinted.
"the whole reason i dragged you here was for you to get over him, you know? find someone better." ariana frowned.
"i know, but..." she sighed. "we're friends. i can look for my friend at a party." she told her, she was smiling the whole time but ariana was actually disappointed, which made her lose that smile. "i mean, you can't blame me for liking him, just look at him." she chuckled.
