There was a lot of noise of ambulance sirens all around the hospital. Many doctors and hospital staff were running here and there carrying patients on stretchers. It seemed as if some big accident had happened somewhere and patients were in trouble.

It was almost sunset and there were not many staff available in the hospital. So it was getting difficult for the remaining doctors to treat the patients. There were some intern students and they were trying to help in this difficult time.

"Doctor! Doctor Riya! A patient's head is broken and he needs surgery as soon as possible." a nurse gasped to a female doctor who was treating a boy's wound.

"Where is he?" Riya asked nervously.

"We have shifted him to the OT. You should go quickly or else he will die." The nurse said panting.

"But we don't have enough doctors and staff to perform the operation then how will we do it?" Riya asked the nurse while going towards the OT.

"But we can't leave him to die like this," said the nurse following Riya.

Riya looked around, everything was in a mess with the blood and cries of the patients. Then her eyes fell on a boy who was treating a small child's wound slowly and carefully.

She kept looking at him for a moment and kept thinking how skilled he was, the way he was treating every patient was incredible. So she thought of calling him for the operation.

"Raj!" Riya called out to him, and he handed over the child in his hand to another man and came to her. Raj was also panting due to running here and there.

"Yes Doctor Riya?" Raj asked.

"I have to do an operation now and I want you to help me with it." Riya told him. Raj was stunned for a moment after hearing her words. He looked around and understood why Riya had told him to help her.

"But why me, doctor?" Raj asked.

"Raj, this is not the time for questions and answers. A patient's life is in danger and we have to save his life at any cost. You just understand that there is a shortage of doctors in the hospital right now, so you will have to help me." Riya said while going towards the OT.

"But Doctor, I don't think I can do that. I'm still learning," Raj said nervously, following her.

"Listen to me carefully! First of all you don't have to undergo the operation and secondly trust yourself." Riya explained to him while washing her hands. Raj took a deep breath and followed her after washing his hands.

As soon as he entered the OT, he suddenly felt darkness as the OT had low lighting. Only the lamp placed above the patient's body was giving a clear view of the blood-soaked patient.

There were some other doctors and nurses present to help. Raj and Riya wore operation uniforms and went near the patient's body. Riya wore her gloves and mask and then extended her hand towards the nurse for the equipment.

Then she started performing the surgery on the patient with great focus and professionalism. Her entire focus was on the surgery and the patient's life. There was only one thought going on in her mind, how to save his life. The injury on his head was very deep due to which the surgery was taking a lot of time.
