Time skip (After two days)

Ruhi’s POV:

The house was bustling with excitement tonight. My grandparents had just arrived, and the joy was palpable. I couldn’t help but smile—after all, they were finally here. My grandfather, always drawn to nature, had chosen to live away from the city in a peaceful farmhouse. It's one of my favorite places, where I spent countless holidays growing up.

My grandmother and I have always been especially close. She’s the pillar of our family—brave, loving, and incredibly wise. She never says “no” directly, but always manages to decline with such grace when needed. I admire her ability to handle every situation with a calm, positive energy.

As for my grandfather, he may appear strict, but I know better. Beneath that tough exterior, he has the softest heart, especially when it comes to family. He’s the first one to worry if anything happens, though he holds a particularly soft spot for my little sister, Krisha.

We were all gathered in the living room, enjoying each other’s company, when suddenly there was a knock at the door. I got up to answer it, and to my surprise, Mr. Roy was standing there with a middle-aged woman, who I assumed was his wife. Behind them was someone even more unexpected—Yashraj Uncle, my grandfather’s close friend and neighbor.

Still shocked to see them at our doorstep, I welcomed them inside, trying to mask my confusion.

Yashraj Uncle, ever the joker, chuckled and said, "Why do you look so surprised, Ruhi? Can’t I come to visit?"

Everyone laughed at my reaction, and I realized I must have looked a bit flustered. I mentally face-palmed, feeling a little embarrassed. My grandfather broke the ice, "Yash, why are you so late? We’ve been waiting for you all evening!"

Yashraj Uncle shrugged with a smile. "Let me introduce my son first, Amrit! Everyone, meet my son, Aditya, and his wife, Mahima Roy. We were late because we had to drop my grandson at the airport."

Mr. Roy shook hands with my dad, while Aunty and my mom exchanged a warm hug. Mr. Roy turned to me and said, “Hello, beta. I didn’t realize you were Alok’s daughter! We met just a couple of days ago, didn’t we?”

I smiled and replied, "Yes, Uncle." But I was still a bit confused about how my father knew him. Sensing this, Dad cleared it up for me. "Ruhi, I’ve known Aditya for a while. We met during one of his company’s projects with us, and we’ve kept in touch since then. I ran into him again at your grandfather's house."

Mr. Roy grinned and hugged my dad warmly. "So, the ladies were the only ones left out," my mom teased, prompting more laughter from everyone.

Curious, my father asked, "Ruhi, how do you know Aditya?"

I explained, "Dad, Mr. Roy is the investor from the presentation I told you about. His team was the one we pitched to, and they signed the contract afterward."

"Wow! So, we’re all connected, it seems!" Yash Uncle exclaimed with a grin.

Soon, the room was filled with light-hearted chatter. I was sitting with Krisha and Dadi in a corner of the hall, while Dad, Uncle, and Grandfather were engaged in conversation nearby.

It wasn’t until Yash Uncle spoke up that we realized how much time had passed. "Amrit, aren’t you all hungry?" he asked, drawing laughter from the whole group. No one had noticed how late it had gotten.

Mom smiled and said, “Everyone, please take a seat at the dining table. Everything’s ready—I’ll just heat it up.”

Krisha and I quickly helped mom serve the food. The dinner table was filled with random, cheerful conversations, and we shared stories and laughter. After a satisfying meal, our guests said their goodbyes and headed home.
