Y/N stepped out of the restroom, attempting to calm the storm of emotions swirling inside her. However, the sound of people whispering and laughing about the incident only intensified her anger. She caught snippets of conversation, people giggling and whispering, “Did you see what happened in the lobby?” and “How embarrassing.” The mocking fueled her frustration even more, making her tense.
Why does this always happen to me?

She clenched her fists and marched directly to the waiting lobby, taking a seat. She tried to breathe deeply, but her heart wouldn’t let her forget the humiliating moment she had just endured. As much as she wanted to stay composed, it was difficult when everyone seemed to be whispering behind her back. I don’t deserve this.

Her name was finally called. Park Y/N. It was time.

She stood, steeling herself for the interview. But as soon as she entered the room, she froze. Seated alongside the panel were none other than Jungkook and Stella. Why are they here? Jungkook, in particular, seemed out of place. Normally, people at his level wouldn’t even bother with these interviews, but clearly, this was no ordinary position. Y/N felt her heart sink even further—of course, this was the secretary position, the one that would work directly under them. Of course, he’s here.

Jungkook and Stella, who had been quietly discussing the next candidate, hadn’t looked up yet.

“I still don’t understand why I’m wasting my time here,” Jungkook muttered to Stella, his tone clipped. “We have HR for a reason.”

Stella, always patient with him, raised an eyebrow. “It’s not just about qualifications, Jungkook. Whoever we hire will be working closely with us. We need someone we’re comfortable with.”

Jungkook sighed, running a hand through his hair in frustration. “Fine, but I don’t need to be here for every single candidate.”

Before Stella could respond, the door clicked, and Y/N walked in. Jungkook’s casual annoyance vanished the moment his eyes landed on her.

It was her.

His entire demeanor shifted. Something stirred within him—an unsettling mix of confusion, anger, and something he wasn’t willing to confront. Why does this woman have such an effect on me? His irritation spiked again, remembering the confrontation in the lobby, the way she had stood up to him. She had made him feel something unfamiliar, and he didn’t like it one bit. His gaze locked onto her as she entered the room, and despite himself, he couldn’t tear his eyes away.

Y/N, on the other hand, felt her own fury surge back to the surface. The calmness she had worked so hard to find in the restroom slipped away. The memory of Jungkook’s smug, arrogant face was still fresh, and seeing him sitting there now, like he had control over everything, made her blood boil.

The silent animosity between them was thick, so much so that one of the interviewers had to call Y/N’s name a second time to snap her out of it.

"Ms. Y/N?" the panel head prompted.

Y/N blinked, realizing she had been glaring at Jungkook. She quickly apologized, refocusing her attention on the panel. She greeted them formally and sat down, trying to push the anger aside.

The panelists began reviewing her resume.

"So, Ms. Park," one of them asked, "can you tell us about your previous work experience?"

Y/N straightened in her seat. "I’ve completed an internship as an executive assistant for a leading firm," she explained. "Though it was only for a limited time, I was responsible for managing schedules, organizing events, and coordinating meetings."
