Three months into your role at Jeon Corporations, you’d adjusted to the whirlwind of new tasks, though not without a few “Y/N moments” as your coworkers had fondly started calling them. Stella, Jungkook’s senior secretary, was assigned to handle more critical operations, while you managed daily schedules and prepared for meetings with him. Each day had its challenges, and today would be no exception.
The moment you walked into the building, familiar greetings met you from all sides.
“Good morning, Ms. Energy Burst!” Jisoo grinned, already anticipating your usual dose of chaos.
“Hey, Ms. Firecracker,” Suho chuckled as he passed by, shaking his head with a grin.
“Here she comes—Ms. Confetti Queen herself,” Mina whispered with a wink, elbowing Stella as they caught sight of you.
"Honestly, I'm just waiting for her next ‘highlight moment’,” Mina added under her breath.
Stella glanced over, suppressing a smile. “Careful, don’t let her hear you. Besides, she’s got a knack for keeping things…interesting. It’s almost impressive.”
You missed all of this, your mind already focused on printing Mr. Jeon’s schedule—the most important part of your morning routine. The printer sat in the corner, looking as innocent as ever, and you marched over with purpose. You’d done this a dozen times; how hard could it be?
But the printer had other plans. As you hit “print,” the machine gave a shudder, then nothing. You sighed, muttering to yourself, “Come on, just work with me today, okay?” But it stayed stubbornly silent. Frustrated, you pressed a few more buttons. Still nothing. Leaning in, you muttered as if coaxing a child, “Look, printer, I don’t have time for this. Don’t make me beg…”
A few tense seconds later, the printer suddenly whirred to life—only to begin shooting out pages in rapid-fire succession like it was possessed. Sheets of paper flew everywhere, covering the floor like a wild paper storm, leaving you gaping in shock.
“Oh my god!” you gasped, jumping back as the “confetti” continued.
Jisoo, Suho, and Mina rushed to the doorway, eyes widening at the sight of you surrounded by a blizzard of paper. They stifled laughter, exchanging knowing looks.
“Called it,” Jisoo murmured to Suho, grinning. “I told you something would happen before 9 a.m.”
“She never disappoints,” Suho snickered, clearly entertained.
Then, amidst the chaos, a quietness settled over the room. There he stood—Mr. Jeon Jungkook, CEO and unamused spectator of your paper avalanche. His gaze shifted from the printer to you, one eyebrow raised in silent judgment. With his arms crossed over his chest and his lips curled in a half-smirk, he looked every bit the intimidating (and slightly amused) boss he was known to be.
Your stomach flipped. It felt like every molecule in the room held its breath as you stood there, face warming under his piercing gaze. When your eyes met his, your heart skipped a beat, and you gulped. You quickly straightened up, instinctively dropping into a deep bow.
“G-Good morning, Mr. Jeon!” you stammered, trying to keep a professional face despite the chaos around you.
His expression didn’t soften as he raised an eyebrow, his smirk growing. “Good morning, Ms. Y/N,” he said smoothly, a teasing glint in his eye. “I see mornings around here aren’t complete without a…unique contribution from you.”
You scrambled for a response, giving him a sheepish grin. “Ahaha… Mr. Jeon, it’s, uh, not my fault. Really! This printer—” You pointed at the offending machine, then quickly looked back at him. “I think it has a mind of its own.”
