"Eventually souls meet, for they have the same hiding place"

                                                                                      — Robert Brault.

The voices that rang in your head grew quieter the deeper down the monster dragged you. It was almost peaceful--at least it would have been if you weren't about to die. Despite yourself, your heart was racing in fear. You didn't want to die. You didn't know anyone who wanted to die. There were people who wanted the peace that they believed came with death. There were people who saw no other way. However, no one truly wants to die.

The deeper you were dragged, the darker it became. You didn't have much air left in your lungs. Soon, your body would instinctively breathe in, filling your lungs with water and drowning you. Your chest was already burning. It wouldn't be too long now.

You closed your eyes, letting the darkness surround you. The tentacle that wrapped around your waist seemed to grow tighter, as if trying to force you to breathe in. Your arms floated around you limply. You weren't fighting anymore. What was the point? Even if you did break away, you wouldn't be able to swim to the surface quickly enough. This thing was going to drown you and then eat you. At least it would make for a good story in the afterlife...if there even was one.

Your lungs burned too much now. You were going to inhale the salt water. Your mouth opened instinctively but as you went to breathe in, you were suddenly tossed from the water, your body flying through the air. Your blue eyes went wide as your body pushed through the barrier of water. a dim, blue light filling your vision. Was this death?

Your body landed with a thud against a hard, wet surface. You groaned out in pain. Rolling over, you vomited the water you'd already swallowed, gasping for breath.

Slowly, your gaze trailed over your new surroundings. You were in some sort of large room. The walls were covered in plants and barnacles. Small, glowing plankton decorated the floors and ceiling--no doubt the cause of the soft blue light that you'd seen. Water lapped at your feet, a large pool connecting to the ocean in the center of the room. You watched as the large tentacles of the Karen disappeared beneath the surface, leaving you alone.

Your chest heaved as you knelt on the soggy, stone floor.

"What...Just happened?"

The glowing plankton provided enough light for your eyes to make out seven large statues just a few yards ahead of you, the figures standing in a circle. Slowly, you rose to your feet. Your legs wobbled from the effort of standing. You stumbled forward clumsily.

The statues were like the rest of the room; Covered in sea moss, plankton and various forms of barnacles. Still, with a bit of elbow grease and your pearl-hilted blade, you were able to scrub away some of the sea life and reveal an inscription at the base of one of the statues.

"The Seven." Looking up at the colossal statues, you squinted your eyes, tilting your head. "Yoongi?"

Your blue eyes widened slightly, realization dawning on you. You glanced around at the other statues. That wasn't possible, was it? You looked to another statue and then another, just barely able to make out their features beneath the muck. Taehyung, Jin, Jungkook, Jimin, Hoseok, Namjoon. All of them were here, their likeness carved into stone.

You used your knife, chipping away at the bottom of the statues, searching for more inscriptions. You wanted to make sense of it--of why there would be statues of these men in a temple that must have been underwater for hundreds of years...None of it added up.

"Well, that's annoyingly cryptic." You let out a huff, looking upwards, "Thank you for nothing, useless statue-building...people? Sea-people? Whatever."
