ONE DAY AGO
"You really think it's him?" A voice said.
"It has to be." Another voice responded.
"Then why was he in the sewers for crying out loud?" Tiara butted in.
"You know that there are schematics down there. Maybe E sent him to get them." The second voice reasoned
"Isn't E dead?" The first voice asked.
"You know that an Advanced that has lived as long as her didn't die. She checked in a few days ago, she said that the kids were losing trust in her." The second voice explained.
"How is faking your own death supposed to gain their trust?" Tiara snarked.
"Don't worry, she'll make a grand appearance and say some bullshit about how she never really died and actually survived through harsh conditions or something like that." The second voice chuckled.
"Oh wait, he's waking up." Tiara noticed.
Liam began to open his eyes. He was attached to an IV and was in a hospital bed. There were three figures standing at the front of the bed, one being Tiara. "Did you enjoy your rest Hans?" The second figure asked, rather annoyed. "Um-" Liam began to speak but was cut off by the first figure, who looked like a girl, but had a rather deep voice. "You were out for like a whole day, Surprisingly, your electronics and suitcase didn't get messed up. Tell me what brand you use." She said, Tiara and Liam just looked at each other awkwardly.
"I'm sorry things got so... weird between us Hans-" Tiara was stopped by the second figure. "We're here for business. Did E send you?" He asked. "Um, yes sir, I was trying to find the-" Liam was cutoff again. "The code for her office, yeah we figured. I dunno why you didn't just ask us." The lady asked. "Oh sorry ma'am-" Liam started but was interrupted for the third time. "I prefer sir now, it's been a long three years." They said, showing a blue, pink, and white flag. "Oh, sorry."
"You didn't seem to sustain any serious damage from the flooding, so I suppose we'll give you the code and you can continue with the task that E sent you on." The man said.
"Thank you sir." Liam said.
"Your stuff is in the closet. Damian, Tiara, let's go." The man said, leading the two out the room.
"...Hans? Oh right." Liam asked himself before remembering the mask he put on. "Dang, it must have really replicated whoever this guy is." He said to himself.
He watched as the three made their way to a nearby doctor and notified them of Liam's (now Hans') awakening. In response, the doctor made her way to Liam's room and knocked on the door. "May I come in Mr. Touren?" She asked. "Um, yeah." Liam responded. He was still surprised at how deep his voice was now. It was technology maybe even Ezariah couldn't grasp.
"Morning Mr. Touren. Luckily, you didn't sustain too much water in your lungs and rescue forces were able to get to you in time." The doctor smiled, checking his blood pressure. she wrapped the strap around his arm and started pumping. "Ok... looks like you're good! It's crazy how that Advanced literally caused a part of Cali to break off into an island, the research city specifically too. And some hydrologists say that this might happen to other cities along the coast. They're calling it the movement of the Californian Islands. Like what?" The doctor ranted.
"Yeah..." Liam said uninterested.
"Oh sorry I was ranting. You'll be discharged shortly Mr. Touren." The doctor said, embarrassed. She unplugged him from the IV and took other doctor stuff Liam was unfamiliar with off as well. She promptly left the room, closing the door.
