The soft glow of the moon cast a silvery light through the large windows of Taehyung’s room, bathing everything in a dreamlike hue. The air was thick with the stillness of the night, but Jungkook’s heart was anything but calm. He sat on the edge of Taehyung's bed, his thoughts swirling with the whirlwind of emotions that Taehyung had managed to stir within him over the past few weeks. The way Taehyung looked at him, the way he spoke to him—there was something different, something deeper. And Jungkook could feel it creeping under his skin, slowly overtaking his thoughts.

Jungkook felt like he was losing himself, but the strange thing was, he didn’t mind. Not when it was Taehyung who was there to catch him.

The door creaked open, breaking Jungkook from his trance. He looked up to see Taehyung walking into the room, holding a small tray with a glass of water and a delicate dessert. The dim light only served to highlight Taehyung’s sharp features, his soft, raven hair falling into his eyes, which were fixed on Jungkook with that same intense gaze that always left him breathless.

“You didn’t eat much at dinner,” Taehyung’s voice was low, almost a whisper as he approached, placing the tray on the bedside table. “I thought you might want something sweet.”

Jungkook blinked, his heart fluttering at the simple but thoughtful gesture. It wasn’t the first time Taehyung had done something like this, but it still caught him off guard every time. “Thank you,” he murmured, barely able to find his voice as he looked up at Taehyung, who had moved closer, standing just in front of him now.

Taehyung crouched down so they were at eye level, his eyes searching Jungkook’s face with a softness that made Jungkook’s chest tighten. “Are you okay?” Taehyung asked, his hand reaching out to gently brush a strand of hair behind Jungkook’s ear. “You seem... distracted.”

Jungkook’s breath hitched at the touch, his skin tingling where Taehyung’s fingers had just been. He couldn’t look away from him, his heart pounding in his chest. “I’m fine,” he whispered, his voice a little shaky. “Just... thinking.”

Taehyung’s lips curled into a small, knowing smile. “Thinking about what?”

Jungkook hesitated, his mind racing. He could feel Taehyung’s presence like a physical force, pulling him in, making it hard to focus on anything but the man in front of him. “About... us,” he finally admitted, his voice barely audible.

Taehyung’s smile softened, and he moved even closer, resting a hand gently on Jungkook’s knee. “What about us?” His voice was so low, so intimate, it sent a shiver down Jungkook’s spine.

Jungkook’s heart was pounding so hard he was sure Taehyung could hear it. “I don’t know what this is,” he whispered, his eyes flickering up to meet Taehyung’s. “But it’s... it’s more than I expected.”

Taehyung’s hand slid from Jungkook’s knee to his thigh, his touch light but deliberate, making Jungkook’s breath catch in his throat. “More than you expected,” Taehyung echoed, his voice deep and rich, filled with something that made Jungkook’s stomach twist in the most exhilarating way. “In a good way, I hope.”

Jungkook swallowed hard, his cheeks flushing under the weight of Taehyung’s gaze. “Yes,” he breathed, feeling almost overwhelmed by the intensity of the moment.
