You hated this.

High school was shit, middle school was a living nightmare of puberty, and your half-time job was crappy too. But nothing could compare to the utter hellhole you had somehow found yourself in.

The robot alien you now knew as Shockwave was keeping you in a terrarium-like container that was supposed to be reminiscent of a house, (with plumbing, though you weren't entirely sure how that worked) though it was so fake in nature it was almost uncanny.

You were currently sitting on the floor, looking out the thick glass window your cell provided, watching as Shockwave paced back and forth, doing... something. You weren't sure what nor did you want to know.

The lights around you shone bright, like that of a doctors office, sharp in the eyes that made your head dip. It had been... hours of just silence. The most entertaining thing to do was watch Shockwave as he worked.

From both his room, and his purpose of taking you in made you assume he was a scientist. Though you were thinking that having only one eye and one working hand would make that job a bit difficult.

But Shockwave seemed to manage just fine.

"Subject."

His booming voice shook over the room, making you lightly jump. Dull eyes met his singular, bright red optic. You haven't spoken since you got here, you were too afraid, too scared, too stubborn- to say anything.

"Stand."

On slightly shaky legs, you stood upright, holding your injured arm as you stepped forward, observing his robust form through the glass, the thick barrier separating the two of you.

Shockwave lumbered forward, peeling the lid of your tank off, before reaching in. Sharp claws carefully plucked you from the ground, to which you squirmed and grasped at his thumb for leverage, his grasp uncomfortable but not painful.

You were awkwardly set onto his desk, all sorts of painful-looking instruments and vials full of unfamiliar liquids surrounding you. You continued to scratch at the metal patching on your arm, lips pursed together as you blinked up at Shockwave.

"Your vitals shall be taken, as I need to monitor them to keep in check of your health," he stated, reaching up to guide the head of what looked to be a camera, surprisingly a lot like human security cameras.

The black eyed center gazed down at you, before the fan of a green grid shone down onto you. It washed and covered your body, causing a light tingle to rush over your bones.

It went back and forth a couple times, to which you just stood there awkwardly, blinking owlishly up at Shockwave, who gave you a dead stare in reply. It was incredibly difficult to try and read what he was feeling, with the only hints being his body language.

After a minute, it beeped loudly, before the grid vanished just as soon as it came. Something glowed to your right, and you looked over, seeing a screen light up, a dark screen contrasting to a green outline of a human silhouette, with letterings popping up in a language you couldn't even begin to try and understand.

You continued to stand still as Shockwave walked over to the screen, clawed digits sliding along the front, tapping a few keys and making the screen shift, with some of the letters shifting or completely vanishing.

"You are weakened," he suddenly said, voice booming across the walls and making you lightly jump, being knocked from your thoughts. "Why?"

You paused, eyes flicking away from Shockwave for a moment. Weakened? What did he mean? Scratching your hand, you thought for a moment, before it clicked. Oh. Right.
