"Baby stop, I'm already running late for work." I moved past Kai to slip into my work shoes. I set my alarm last night, I swear I did. Or at least I thought I did.

It was the middle of January and freezing like crazy. I bundled up from head to toe and Malakai laughed at me the entire time.

"You over there looking like candy man and shit." He cracked up while taking a picture of me.

I rolled my eyes and continued wrapping myself up in every piece of warm clothing I could find. "You laughing bookie? Alright don't come begging me to take care of you when your ass catch a cold." I stuck out my tongue.

When people say your life could change in the blink of an eye, that statement couldn't be more true. I couldn't help but smile as Malakai led us to the garage so he could take me to work. His walk, his swag and the way he carried himself alone, made me turn into a water below.

I sat passenger side and watched him maneuver his way through the city. Blasting rap music and occasionally taking sips of the espresso I made for him. Everything about this man was just so attractive. But I couldn't help myself but to think, was he too good to be true?

Did Malakai have any secrets? Questions that needed answers.

"Thank you baby, I love you. Have a good day at work and don't let anybody piss you off. You know I'll come up there and set shit off." I leaned over for a kiss.

"Man your ass is crazy. I love you too mamas. Be good, don't be in niggas face, I cut up."

I watched Maya run into the hospital before I pulled away. Turning my music up, I looked at the incoming call and it was an old from an old friend who was currently incarcerated. Each time we talked it took me back to a time in my life, I wasn't too fond of.

A part from my past that wasn't shared at dinner tables or even talked about. Answering the phone I could hear the joy in my homeboys voice.

"Peace brother, I got that package man. I appreciate you coming through for me." Ronni said with much enthusiasm.

Talking to Ronni for the duration of his allowed fifteen minutes, we ended the call on a good note as I pulled into my reserved parking space. We made armaments for me to come upstate and pay him a visit, something I haven't done for a good while. Seeing prison made my skin crawl, guilt ate at me seeing Ronni locked away like that.

"Good morning Mr. Davis, your nine o'clock is already here and he's waiting in your office." My assistant greeted me with a small pile of papers.

Taking a deep breath I prepared myself to meet with one of my many celebrity clients. Most people dreamt of working with big names but the shit came with a price. They demanded a lot of things in a short period of time, and when you didn't meet those standards you lost out on a lot of money. And with my company expansion happening, I couldn't afford to lose money or clients.
