PRESENT DAY: DECEMBER 10, 2019
"where are youuu off too, cap?" johnny (soap) asks from the kitchen as his captain comes down in a suit.
captain john price chuckles slightly as he makes his way to the boys at the kitchen table. ghost waits for his answer while the sergeant ... giggles to himself about john still wearing a beanie.
"uh." john clears his throat.
"a date? she hot?" johnny asks as he bites into his sandwich.
ghost grunts at johnny, "what!?" johnny puts his hands up by his side.
"the funeral for my daughters teammates, actually."
johnny gets very serious so does ghost, "oh, i'm sorry." the boys watch as john gets a little emotional fixing his collar.
"i'm just," he clenches his jaw, "just happy it's not my little girl." he nods to them.
"us too." ghost says for him and johnny.
johnny continues to eat his sandwich as the men doesn't really want to talk right now, the doorbell goes off and gaz gets up from the couch to answer it.
"ah, hello..." / "..." / "in the kitchen, i believe."
is all that can be heard from the front of the house, johnny tries to sneak a peak but ghost won't move his big head. just then as he's about to tell his lieutenant to move a girl comes out. dressed in black dickies and a black long sleeve t-shirt. john stands up straight.
"you didn't want to wear your uniform?" he asks the girl who's walking closer. her hair is jet black and straightened, her makeup is minimal.
"no" she quickly says before turning to see the men. her eyes are piercing — "this is gwenie"
"dad." she rolls her eyes slightly. "gwen." she quickly corrects her dad.
johnny stands up and shakes her hand, "johnny, call me soap. or- they call me soap but call me johnny." he laughs.
gwen's glare is unwavering, "ok johnny."
ghost stands up and holds out his hand, "ghost."
"hello" she shakes his hand.

captain price watches as his daughter is not who he remembers. she's bright and bubbly, but ... this ... these deaths must be life changing. so he feels more sad than he thought. perhaps his daughter is also gone in a way. but he quickly rushes her out of the house and into the car.

"gwenie" the silence is broken in the car by john.
"dad, listen i didn't wear my uniform because i failed them, okay? i did. i can't- i can't deal with that right now." gwen's sobs fill his ears.
he can't tell her anything because he knows she won't hear it, but what he wants to say is to quit and get a normal
job.
what is that was her in the casket? he can just sit there in silence.
