(Aishani's POV)
The sun spread out its last rays of the day, painting the sky in different shades of orange, pink and then changing to black as the night finally set in. The twinkling stars, some dim, some bright, soon filled the beautiful night sky.
I had been standing there for hours after returning from my long day at the café. Today there had been a lot of customers and didn't seem to stop coming till well after 7. We had to stop people coming in to finally close the shop for the day.
This spot at the rooftop of my apartment building was my favorite; where I could see the sun setting at my right and the moon slowly rising from my left, while the beautiful mysterious forest that lied in between them, looking as if it was the only thing separating the sun and the moon.
No one had ever dared to go inside the forest, in the fear of the "deadly monstrous creatures" that seemed to live there. Somehow, as soon as I heard about it, I knew it was only a rumor. I did some investigation here and there and found out that the person who had spread it; it was my next-door neighbor, Mr. Walton Dextrex.
Mr. Dextrex was a man probably in his mid-fifties, whom I had thought was quite cruel at first for saying that some kind of dreadful creatures lived in the beautiful forest. I had first asked, more like threatened, him to tell me the reason behind spreading the rumor.
He had surprisingly explained to me how he had saved a little vampire girl's life on his journey inside the forest. While he was being attacked by some other older bad vampires, some other vampires of higher authority and power had saved him and had given him a place to stay during his journey, as a repay for saving the vampire girl child. He spent many of his years living in the forest, so many that he had almost felt as if that place was his own home. He had discovered a lot of things about vampires and humans and now had some amount of hatred towards them, despite being one. He was always grateful to them all, so he had promised them that no human will ever come back inside the forest to ever disturb their life again. And that's where the rumor originated from.
After hearing his part of the story, I realized that it had to be done and I grew a certain kind of fondness and respect towards him and a sudden interest in vampires. Ever since that day, I always spent my free time reading stories and researching about vampires.
The sudden screeching of a car pulled me out of my train of thoughts. I looked down from the rooftop and saw a new black car parked outside. Soon a tall man stepped out of it and it wasn't his beautiful looks that had me frozen in my spot; it was a deep sense of a feeling that told me that I knew the guy from somewhere, though I didn't know how or from where.
Before I could even try to think about it, he instantly turned and looked at me. Embarrassed and caught, I quickly left the spot and finally decided to head back to my flat.
As I was walking downstairs, I felt a sudden strong hand wrap around my waist, stopping me from walking any further. I felt the person lean down and whisper in my ear, -
"Found You, My Lady~"
I felt them releasing me and leaning back, not before leaving a lingering kiss on my neck.
I stood frozen in shock for a few moments, before turning around only to find no one behind me.
