(Aishani's POV)
I ran back downstairs to my flat and quickly locked up the door behind me. I leaned against the door and took deep breaths, trying to calm my frantically beating heart down.
I looked around my house; nothing looked much out of place. 'Good thing my cat hasn't broken anything yet.' As if on cue, a crashing sound came from the kitchen.
I rushed inside and saw a bowl laying on the ground, broken in several pieces; some pieces of biscuits laying on the counter and the floor; water dripping from the tap and my cat hanging upside down from the top counter. I quickly caught him before he could fall. He blinked at me innocently as I glared at him, silently scolding him for the mess he had created. He jumped out of my arms and went inside the bedroom, probably to his makeshift bed.
I looked at the time and back around the kitchen. 'Guess I'll just clean it now, better not be late tomorrow.' After cleaning for almost an hour, I went back inside my bedroom and saw that Sunshine was asleep already. I smiled as I remembered the day we first met.
I had always wanted a pet cat so I had gone inside a pet shop one day. All the cats were cute, but one in particular had caught my eye. He had insanely black fur and anyone might think to call him Midnight at first sight, which I had also originally thought to do. But when I looked at his seemingly-glowing sun-like light orange eyes, I quickly changed my mind. His eyes completely contrasted with his body, it was like his eyes were the light to his body's darkness; which had made its trick on me. I decided to keep him, not even bothering to look at the rest of the shop. I named him Sunshine after his eyes and his innocence and purity. But after living months with him, I had realized how wrong I was.
Chuckling, I switched off all the lights and tucked myself under the covers and decided to sleep in for the night. But that's where the problem comes.
Sleep never came to me. Thoughts about the mysterious person and his voice, and about the new guy kept me awake.
