(Virikvas's POV)
As soon as I stepped out of my black car, I sensed someone looking at me. Instinctively, I looked up at the rooftop of my new apartment's building.
A girl with brown hair and a waitress dress, around my vampire years, was staring at me. We maintained eye-contact for a few minutes before she left abruptly. Without thinking, I flashed to where she might be right now.
She was walking down the stairs; and luckily for me no one was there to see us. I wrapped an arm around her body, to stop her from walking any further away from me and the other hand over her mouth to suppress her gasp.
I felt my inner vampire craving for a taste of her. Leaning in, her smell intoxicated and engulfed me. Controlling my instincts and myself, all I did was leave a peck on her neck. 'That will have to do for now.'
I left before I could harm her in any way and before she could discover me. But her smell was enough for me to find out something about her. She smelt like chocolate and coffee. In addition to that unimportant information, she has to be the one I was sent here for. I flashed back to my car and walked up to my room, taking the little things that I had packed with me. I wasn't going to stay here for long, maximum three days, so all I had brought was just the daily necessities.
As I lay on my new bed, thoughts about how familiar the girl felt kept coming back at me. I mean, yeah, my father had informed that we were studying in the same class in my old school but she just felt a lot closer than just a regular classmate. I guess I might find out tomorrow who she is.
I pushed the thoughts aside and tried figuring out why the Court would ever need a mere human like her, till sleep would come to me.
But the question was, was she really just a normal human to them or someone else?
