Kyle was in a phase of adjustment in his life in New York, focusing on work and his career. Although seeing Agatha on the news had shaken him, he hadn't had the courage to contact her.

Months passed, and each day he was a little further away from the memory that had once consumed him. However, he couldn't forget her, and deep down he hoped she was okay.
Agatha, on the other hand, had made significant progress. After spending time in a rehab center, she had managed to put the pieces of her life back together. She had become an established journalist and had secured a transfer to New York. Her new life seemed to be taking shape, but there was still an emptiness that she couldn't quite fill.

One morning, as Kyle was getting ready to leave for work, he was feeling particularly satisfied with his routine. As he opened the door to his apartment, the daily routine turned into a moment of pure disbelief. In front of him was standing his new neighbor, he knew that someone had moved there but he hadn't met them yet but when their eyes met, Kyle's heart skipped a beat. He couldn't believe his eyes.

«Agatha?» he whispered, incredulous.

«Kyle!» she replied, with a mixture of surprise and joy. It was clear that they were both wondering how it was possible to find themselves in this situation.

Agatha was wearing an elegant dress, suitable for a day at work in a television studio, and her smile was as bright as ever. Kyle noticed how much she had changed, but at the same time, how much she had remained the same. His heart filled with nostalgia and a myriad of memories came flooding back.

«I can't believe you're here.» Agatha continued, still in disbelief.

«Yes, that's an incredible coincidence.» Kyle said, trying to keep calm as his thoughts raced. The tension between them was palpable, and the past was coming back intensely.

«How are you?» Agatha asked, her eyes searching for answers.
«Good, good. What about you?» Kyle said, trying not to show how nervous he was.

«I got a transfer here, and I just found an apartment.» Agatha said, a spark of excitement in her voice. «What about you? How's work going?»

«It's demanding but rewarding. I work at a law firm nearby.» he explained, trying not to show how happy he was to see her again.

The silence grew thick between them, heavy with unspoken meaning. They were both aware that this meeting was some kind of opportunity, a new chance to start over, but the past and its complications were always there, waiting to emerge.

«We should... we should have coffee together, one of these days.» Kyle suggested, trying to keep his voice steady.

Agatha nodded, her smile widening.

«I'd love to.»

With one last emotional exchange of glances, they said goodbye and walked away. Kyle headed to work, heart pounding, knowing that life had an ironic way of rearranging its plots. This coincidence would lead to a new chapter in their story, and this time, they were both ready to write a different ending.
