"I found a coconut crab on the road. I tried to catch it, but it ran away, so I wasted a bit of time." Jiang Yang hugged the cuttlefish as she got in. She sat with her knees in the water on the lake's edge, concerned that the cuttlefish might perish from drying out. To prevent it from escaping, she held one of its tentacles while she placed it in the puddle.

Chi Mei swam over without hesitation and rested his head softly on Jiang Yang's knees. His long, wet hair spread over Jiang Yang's knees, with the ends dipping into the water. Casually, Jiang Yang twirled a strand of Chi Mei's black hair around her slender fingertips, wrapping it playfully.

Chi Mei closed his eyes comfortably, like a kitten being stroked by its owner. He even slid from Jiang Yang's knees to her belly, causing his gauzy attire to lift slightly and reveal his snow-white skin. His delicate and slender waist, stood out against the dim light filtering into the tree hollow.

Jiang Yang's eyes seemed captivated and dazzled by the smooth, jade-like whiteness of Chi Mei's skin. Distracted, she unconsciously loosened her grip, and the cuttlefish quickly wriggled free from her hand.

"Huh?" she muttered reflexively.

Chi Mei opened his eyes, slipped off Jiang Yang's lap, and gracefully dove into the water. When he surfaced a few seconds later, he was holding the cuttlefish, its tentacles firmly encircling his hand. Chi Mei smirked playfully as he offered it to Jiang Yang while raising his eyebrows. "Okay, here."

"Let it go, or just kill it and eat it," Jiang Yang said.

"Ayang, don't you want to write and draw?" Chi Mei asked, watching as the cuttlefish squirted ink, darkening the water.

All Jiang Yang needed was ink to write Jiang Qingzhou a letter. The "writing and drawing" was merely a pretext. Now that the letter was complete, the ink was useless. "Suddenly, I don't feel like writing anymore," she muttered while leaning back.

Chi Mei held onto the struggling cuttlefish, his head lowered. "...Oh."

Noticing Chi Mei's disappointed expression, Jiang Yang asked, "What's wrong?"

"I just wanted to see you to write and draw," Chi Mei said, his voice tinged with sadness.

"What's so interesting about writing?" Jiang Yang asked.

With an expression of disgust, Chi Mei held the cuttlefish a little closer and said, "But... I've never seen you do it before."

"All right, all right. I'll draw for you." Jiang Yang straightened her posture, she sat up straight, picked up the cuttlefish, squeezed out a small amount of ink onto a stone wall, and then took a branch to dip into it before starting to paint.

As a member of an aristocratic family, Jiang Yang's basic painting skills were impeccable. Even without a brush, she wielded the branch skillfully, and with just a few strokes, a chibi version of Chi Mei appeared on the stone wall.

Chi Mei's eyes grew wide with amazement. "Wow! Is that me? He smudged the fish tail and got some ink on his fingers as he reached out to touch the drawing.

"Ayang, how did you draw it so well? It's just like the real thing! Please teach me!" Chi Mei begged, tugging at Jiang Yang's sleeve.

Jiang Yang crossed her legs and said, "Artistic skills don't come overnight. I've practiced for over ten years, so don't expect to learn it that easily."

"If you won't teach me, I'll do it myself," Chi Mei said, a bit sulky. He picked up the discarded branch and began fiddling with the little drawing of himself. Mumbling as he worked, his words grew softer and faded.
