During breakfast...
The usual chatter and laughter that accompanied their breakfast routine had been replaced by a heavy silence. Aarohi and Tarun sat side by side, quietly eating their meal without exchanging a word, a stark contrast to their usual cheerful banter.
The silence in the room was deafening, drawing the attention of the their parents. Both Mr. and Mrs. Verma exchanged amused and slightly concerned glances, seemingly engaging in a silent conversation, their looks conveying a mixture of bemusement and worry about the uncharacteristic quiet demeanor of their children.
The usually bickering twin pair seemed unusually quiet and distant from each other. Tarun couldn't help stealing anxious glances at his sister, a sense of worry etched across his face.
Tarun, unable to bear the eerie silence any longer, broke the quiet with a gentle question, his concern evident in his voice. "Chutki, what's wrong? You're unusually silent today. Did something happen at school?"
Aarohi's response came sharp and cold, her words cutting deep. "Why do you care? And who are you to even bother about me?"
Tarun's voice quivered as he responded, the sudden outburst from his sister taking him aback. "I'm your brother," he said weakly, the hurt evident in his tone.
"Brother...huh?" Her voice dripped with venom as she continued, "How I wish I could rewrite this reality where you're my brother. I don't even want to look at you. Just get out of my sight."
"Aarohi!!!" Her parents' voices echoed in unison, stern and authoritative, instantly drawing her attention.
Aarohi, her eyes brimming with tears, looked at her parents before leaving the table without finishing her breakfast. As she walked away, she muttered softly, "I don't want to eat anymore."
Tarun looked at his parents, a mixture of hurt and disappointment in his eyes. He spoke in a quiet yet accusing tone"Rula diya na aap dono ne use "
(Both of you made her cry.)
At school....
Tarun pov ...
What did I do that she is not talking to me . This is not like our usuall fight . It's like I did something that made her this much upset . But I can't recognize what did I do. I didn't even drank her milkshake yesterday nor untied her hairs. .....uugh this is so frustrating I want my sister back....no I need my sister back .
"Did you two have a fight?" Yatharth inquired gently, his voice laced with curiosity and concern.
"Why"
Yatharth observed, "You've been staring at her since this morning, but she doesn't seem to be looking at you even once."
I responded with a sigh, "I honestly don't know why she's so frustrated with me. She won't talk to me, and I have no clue what I might have done to upset her this much."
I sighed deeply, my frustration evident. Yatharth, listening quietly, offered to intervene, saying, "If it's really weighing on you this much, I can talk to her for you."
I nodded in agreement, saying, "Yeah, maybe she'll be more open to talking with you. Just don't mention my name when you speak to her."
At bio lab...
All around me, students were peering into their microscopes, engrossed in examining different parts of plants. I too was intensely focused on the task at hand, determined to understand every minute detail of the specimens under my scope.
I couldn't help but notice that the girls in my class were often swooning over me, asking me for help with everything. I mean, yes, I'm smart and good-looking, but seriously, our teacher is right there too!
My mind was clearly preoccupied with other thoughts, and the constant attention from the girls was really irritating me. I clenched my fists, feeling frustrated and distracted by their constant requests for help.
As I looked up from my microscope, my breath hitched, and my heart skipped a beat. The most enchanting sight greeted my eyes, leaving me utterly captivated.
Arshia, standing before me in her lab coat, looked absolutely captivating. As she bent over her microscope, a few strands of her hair fell onto her face, creating an ethereal and timeless beauty that mesmerized me. I couldn't help but stare in awe at her enchanting presence.
My thoughts raced as I tried to process my intense reaction to her beauty. Why was I so captivated by her? Normally, I didn't pay much attention to girls, but there was something about her that had me spellbound.
Perhaps it was her graceful demeanor, the way the strands of hair framed her face, or simply the sheer perfection of her features.
Lost in my thoughts about Arshia, I was abruptly pulled back to reality by the ringing of the class bell, signaling the end of the class.
As the other students started to stream out of the class, a plan formed in my mind. Without hesitation, I quickly made my way towards Arshia, leaving behind the rest of the girls in my haste.
I moved in close, standing behind her, and whispered softly into her ear, "Or bhai, sab badiya?" (Hey, are you doing well?)
Arshia turned around swiftly, but in her surprise, she lost her balance. However, before she could stumble, I instinctively reached out and grabbed her hand, preventing her from falling.
Arshia pov ...
Our bodies were mere inches apart as his firm grip around my wrist held me steady, his gaze intense and captivating. I found myself getting lost in his eyes, like I was drowning in a deep pool of emotion. In that moment, time seemed to stand still.
He released my wrist and moved slightly to the side, leaving me a moment to steady myself. I took a deep breath, trying to calm the rapid beating of my heart. The intensity of the moment still lingered between us, and I could feel my cheeks flushed with a mixture of embarrassment and nervousness.
