Ruby woke the next morning to the sound of her alarm. When did she even fall asleep? "Ugh, work." She gets up and gets ready for work. Her phone goes off as she brushes her teeth.

Ky - we're outside

Rube - I'm coming

Ruby grabs her purse and puts on her shoes. She closes the door behind her, making sure to lock it before she walks down the front steps. She climbs in the back and puts her seat belt on. "Hey girly!" "Hey!" "So, how's the 'find a wedding date' going?" Kylie smirks. "It's....going...." Ruby takes out her phone. Kylie sighs. "Rube...." "I'm working on it, ok?!" "Alright, alright! Let's just drop it for now, ok?" Malia glances between the two. "Fine." "Fine, but only cause i love you." Kylie rubs her thumb against the back of Malia's hand before she kisses it. Ruby smiles at the sight. She remembers when they first met back in Sophomore year of high school. It was practically love at first sight. Kylie and Ruby were a year older than Malia. She came in Freshman year, completely lost. Her and Kylie were walking to class, chatting about something doesn't even remember anymore. Kylie was walking backwards, she tried to warn her about running into Malia when it was too late. She watched with amusement as Kylie bumps into the poor girl, dropping her books on the floor. Her trying to help her, a stuttering mess. The classic first meet from those RomCom movies everyone talks about. And they've been together ever since. It wasn't until last year that Kylie finally popped the question, Malia, of course, said yes.

They finally make it to work as Kylie parks her car. They all worked at a dance studio, teaching kids. Kylie and Ruby, coming from a dance background, were very glad to find a job that also let them express their passion. While dance wasn't exactly Malia's expertise, she was still very content being the receptionist. Getting to work with her future wife and her best friend was a gift. She'll take it any day. And watching Kylie show off her abs was always a bonus. Ruby's phone goes off as they all take five. She opens it to find a new message.

Morgan - kill me now 💀☠️

Ruby chuckled slightly.

Ruby - um, I'm sorry?

Morgan - save me from having to sign all this paperwork please

Ruby - i mean, i think i left my flamethrower at home but....

Morgan - please go get it, and burn down this whole office

Ruby - something tells me u wouldn't want me to do that while you're still in it 🤔

Morgan - it's fine, a good captain goes down with her ship

Ruby - Captain? U got the promotion?

Ruby briefly remembers Morgan mentioning something about a promotion on their date the other night. Guess she got it.

Morgan - yes and I'm starting to question my life choices 🤦

Ruby smiles slightly as she shakes her head.

Ruby - well too late now

She puts her phone down when a parent walks up to her wanting to take their child home. She has them sign the sign in and out sheet as she goes to get them. After walking them out, she goes back to her phone and sees a different notification.

Mel - I'm gonna kill my ex 😒

Odd way to start a conversation but ok.

Ruby - what'd he/she/they do?

Mel - she, and she just handed me thousands upon thousands of vegetables to cut up. I mean, i know I'm short, but not even Dwight Howard could see over this pile
