A week had passed since their magical night by the Han River, and Evan couldn't shake the feeling that something significant had shifted in his life. He found himself replaying every moment with Hanni—the way her laughter echoed in his ears, the spark in her eyes when she spoke passionately about her dreams, and the warmth of her smile.

Despite their budding connection, reality quickly set in. Evan's workload increased as he prepared for a major photography exhibition, leaving little time for anything outside of deadlines and meetings. But he often found himself checking his phone, hoping for a message from Hanni.

Meanwhile, Hanni was navigating her own whirlwind of schedules, performances, and rehearsals. New Jeans was busy promoting their latest comeback, and while she loved every moment on stage, she missed the genuine connection she had shared with Evan.

One evening, after a long day of practice, Hanni decided to treat herself to a quiet dinner. She slipped into a cozy restaurant that served her favorite comfort food. As she settled into her seat, the familiar smell of Korean barbecue filled the air, and she felt a sense of calm wash over her.

Just as she was about to take a sip of her drink, the door swung open, and in walked Evan. He was dressed casually in a black hoodie and jeans, his hair slightly tousled, giving him an effortlessly charming look. Her heart raced as he scanned the room, and when their eyes met, she felt an undeniable jolt.

"Evan!" she called, unable to suppress her excitement.

His face broke into a wide grin as he made his way over. "Hanni! What a surprise!"

"More like an unexpected one," she replied, moving aside to make room for him at her table. "What are you doing here?"

"I needed a break from editing photos," he explained, sliding into the chair across from her. "And this place has the best food."

"Agreed! I could eat here every day," Hanni said, her eyes sparkling. "You have to try the spicy pork belly. It's to die for."

As they began to chat, the atmosphere felt light and natural, as if they were picking up right where they left off. The initial awkwardness of running into each other faded quickly, replaced by laughter and easy conversation.

"I almost texted you this week," Evan admitted, taking a sip of his drink. "But work kept piling up. I didn't want to bother you during your busy schedule."

"You could never bother me," Hanni replied, a hint of seriousness in her tone. "I was actually hoping to see you again."

His heart skipped a beat at her words, but before he could respond, their server arrived with a steaming plate of food. They both dove in, savoring the flavors and sharing bites, each moment deepening their connection.

"I've been meaning to ask," Hanni said between mouthfuls, "how's your exhibition preparation going?"

"It's hectic, but I think it's going to be worth it. I'm showcasing some of my favorite portraits," Evan explained, a hint of pride in his voice. "But I could use a fresh perspective. Maybe I should have you come as a guest."

Hanni's eyes lit up. "I'd love that! I could help you pick the best ones."

"Deal!" he said, feeling a warmth spread through him at the thought of sharing that part of his life with her.

As they finished their meal, Hanni leaned back in her chair, looking content. "You know, it's nice to just be here, enjoying good food and company."

"Absolutely," Evan agreed, the tension of the week melting away. "Sometimes you just need to pause and appreciate the moment."

Their conversation continued to flow effortlessly, moving from serious topics to playful banter. As they wrapped up their meal, Hanni couldn't help but feel a sense of comfort around Evan, something she hadn't expected.

"Let's take a picture!" she suddenly suggested, pulling out her phone. "We need to capture this moment."

Evan raised an eyebrow, smirking. "Are you sure? I'm not exactly camera-ready."

"Come on, you look great!" Hanni insisted, playfully nudging him. "Just one for memory's sake."

He chuckled, relenting as she positioned herself next to him, their shoulders touching. Hanni took a few selfies, laughing as they tried different poses, and Evan couldn't help but admire how natural she looked, even when being silly.

After a few minutes of laughter, Hanni held up her phone to show him the pictures. "Look at this one! We look so happy."

Evan smiled, feeling a warmth spread through him. "We do. I'm glad we ran into each other."

As they stepped out into the cool night air, Evan felt a sense of reluctance wash over him. "So, what now?"

Hanni shrugged, her expression contemplative. "We could walk a bit? I don't want tonight to end just yet."

"Sounds perfect," Evan replied, his heart racing at the prospect of spending more time with her.

They wandered through the nearby park, the night illuminated by soft lights and the distant sounds of laughter. The stars above twinkled brightly, mirroring the excitement building between them.

"Hanni," Evan began, breaking the comfortable silence, "I've been thinking a lot about what you said the other night. About fate."

"Yeah?" she replied, glancing at him with curiosity.

"I want to believe that everything happens for a reason," he said, his voice steady. "And meeting you... it feels significant."

Hanni's breath caught in her throat, and she looked away for a moment, her cheeks tinged pink. "I feel the same way, Evan. It's like we were meant to cross paths."

He took a deep breath, the weight of his feelings pressing against his chest. "Can I be honest with you?"

"Always," she replied, her gaze locked onto his.

"I really like you, Hanni," Evan admitted, his heart pounding. "More than I expected to."

Her eyes widened slightly, surprise etched across her features. "You... you do?"

"Yeah, I do," he said, feeling vulnerable yet hopeful. "And I want to see where this could go."

Hanni's lips curled into a shy smile, her heart racing. "I like you too, Evan. I've just been afraid to say it."

In that moment, the world around them faded away, leaving just the two of them under the stars. The tension between them shifted, charged with possibility and unspoken feelings.

"I'm really glad we're on the same page," Evan said, his voice barely above a whisper.

"Me too," Hanni replied, stepping a little closer. "So, what now?"

"Maybe we take it slow. Enjoy this and see where it leads?" he suggested, his heart racing.

"Sounds perfect," she agreed, a bright smile lighting up her face.

As they stood together, the night felt alive with the promise of something new and beautiful. With a shared understanding, they took the first step into uncharted territory, ready to explore the depths of their connection.
