Evan spent the next few days bouncing between final exhibition preparations, catching up with Sarah, and a string of coffee shop meetups with Hanni. But, in the back of his mind, Liam's proposition lingered like a static hum he couldn't quite shake. He'd mulled it over, turning it every way in his mind. It was tempting—an incredible chance to capture uncharted landscapes and perspectives, something he'd always wanted. But it came with a cost.

He'd felt more alive these last few weeks, especially since Hanni entered his life in such a mysterious, unplanned way. Walking away from it now felt like giving up on something he hadn't yet had the chance to fully explore. But the opportunity with Liam wasn't something that came around every day.

With a sigh, he pushed the thought aside as he stepped into the bustling gallery. Tonight, his exhibition was finally opening, and he had an entire room of guests awaiting his work. And maybe, just maybe, she would be among them.

The gallery buzzed with life as Evan's exhibition officially kicked off, the space filling up faster than he'd anticipated. A steady murmur of appreciation hummed around him as people studied his photographs, examining the silent stories captured in each frame. Yet, despite the growing crowd, his focus was on one person who hadn't yet arrived.

He scanned the room, his eyes lingering on the door, watching each newcomer with quiet anticipation.

"Waiting for someone?" Sarah's voice jolted him out of his thoughts. She had an amused smirk, an eyebrow arched.

Evan tried to play it cool, shrugging. "Just keeping an eye on things."

Sarah laughed. "Right. I've been watching you fidget for the past hour, so I don't buy that."

Before he could respond, the door opened, and he saw her. Hanni. She slipped in, looking almost unrecognizable in an oversized hoodie and mask, blending in as just another visitor. She caught his eye for a brief moment, the hint of a smile visible through her gaze alone.

Evan's heart skipped. She was here.

"You know, I'm starting to think your art isn't the only reason you're nervous," Sarah continued, oblivious to Hanni's arrival. "Anyway, you've got admirers to charm," she added with a playful nudge, leaving him to greet the guests while she moved on to mingle.

Evan couldn't quite believe Hanni had actually made it. His stomach twisted with excitement and nerves as he watched her blend into the crowd, moving from one photo to another with careful intent, her face half-hidden. She stopped at one of his favorite shots—a fog-laden coastline at sunrise, the light breaking over waves.

Finally, he managed to drift over to her, casually enough not to raise suspicion.

"Enjoying the exhibit?" he murmured, just loud enough for her to hear.

A spark lit her eyes as she met his gaze, her voice low and amused. "More than I can say. You really know how to capture a moment."

A smirk tugged at his lips. "Says the professional moment-capturer herself."

"Oh, please." She rolled her eyes playfully. "In my world, moments are meticulously crafted. Yours? They're raw, real."

He couldn't help but grin. "That's probably the best compliment I've ever gotten."

"Then I'll keep them coming," she said with a small smile, leaning in just a bit. "I've been following your work for a while, you know. I came across your portfolio in a magazine back when I was training. Even then, I could tell you had something special."

Evan's eyes widened, genuinely taken aback. "Wait... are you saying you were a fan of mine?"

She grinned, teasing. "Why so shocked? I'm just like everyone else here, appreciating your work."
