An actor doesn't need a stage. That's what they say anyway. But maybe they were wrong, for I was addicted, yes me, Solas Fritz, was addicted to the stage.
When my professional debut came, it was October, I was one of the leads. The play itself was a pretty good one, made by one of the kids at my school and my best friend, Oakley Palman. The play was called, Midnight. It was about two young boys, aged 17 although me and Ash Clark were both 18 at the time of playing the two leads, Asher and Casper.Asher, my character was nicknamed the boy in the rain for numerous reasons, one because he liked the rain (obvious reason) and because he liked a boy that wore blue most of the time, also because of his blue-grey eyes. That boy in question was Casper, a young independent guy, much like Ash himself, also Casper was into art, much like Ash again.
'Well, you ready? ' Ash said, coming into our dressing room after being in the Wigs, Hair and Makeup, WHAM. He didn't really need to go to WHAM, for his brown naturally curly hair (having a short middle parting, which fell over his face, like short curtains and being short and the sides and back) , didn't really need anything done to it, only a short comb.
'Had chat a did we? ' I smirked, personally I think the only reason he went to WHAM, was to chat with Kathryn Kelsie, the head of WHAM, for our production.
'No! No definitely not!' I shook my head and snickered. 'Well Mr Clark, I am sure they enjoyed your company.' He picked up his jacket saying. 'Sure, sure, Fritz! ' I opened my mouth to protest, as the door opened. Caitlin Brogan, appeared. 'Boys just a reminder we're on in 10.' She smiled warmly. 'Better get your costumes on in a like let's say 5.' Caitlin was in charge of our costumes, she was chill, normally, apart from with a time schedule.'Ok!' Ash nodded. She nodded back as her ginger hair disappeared through the door. Again I opened my mouth. 'Don't Fritz me!' He smirked. 'You just Clarked me, it goes two ways. ' He retorted. My eyebrows raised. 'Well I am very sorry. 𝘕𝘰𝘵! ' he shook his head disapprovingly, 'well like Caitlin said we need to get our costumes on.' He pulled my arm. 'Come on! Solas! ' I got up obediently, shaking my head smiling.

The stage was set. All we had to do was walk on. Not too bad right? My mounting fear clung to me, not letting go. 'Hey it's not too bad. Don't worry. ' Ash whispered, fumbling a finger over my blonde fringe. 'Ash, you're on before me. ' I checked my watch, 'You'll be late. ' Ash was on approximately one minute before me, just by a minute but still he'd be late. He looked down at my hands, which were clasped tightly together. 'Doesn't matter. ' He muttered, taking my hands. 'Don't stress that's all, we've practiced this. ' He was right, we had many times. I'd gotten to grips with the first act, for it was easy, the second, I had too and so on and so on.
I walked on. The set was beautiful, also it was just a cluster of ornate desks, the lights were what made it, shining upon us. 'Well would you look at that, someone decided to show up! ' Of course, Kelton wasn't normally mean, only on stage, because his character was a vulgar bully, Jason Libertytown. 'Shut up Jason, He's not a wimp!'
'Oh really not a-' Kelton began punching Ash. Not hard obviously, we'd practiced how hard to for stage, it wasn't hard at all. '-WIMP' Ash/Casper yelled. 'Stop! Stop!' The stage began to rotate, the first scene was done, and this was just our final rehearsal.••••|×|••••
'What did I say? ' Oakley patted me on the shoulder. 'That final rehearsals are always the hardest, because it's in front of the officials aka our parents. ' I smiled, although exhausted. 'Yes. That's right but as the playwright it's my job to make sure the lines are correct or at least remembered right. ' He said still patting me. 'Yep and we did that did we not? ' Ash came bouncing up to us, smiling broadly. 'You got it mate, yes everyone did. ' the two fist bumped, smiled and nodded.
'Well like I said it wasn't that bad in front of your parents. ' Ash said flinging an arm around me. His parents never showed up, he didn't expect them to and not did I. That was because they were busy, apparently with work as they always were. I never knew what they worked as, or where. Ash was secretive with that, he always said things like '𝘰𝘩 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘺 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘪𝘵' or '𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘮𝘺 𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩'
So I decided to question, Rosemary, who was my mum's friend as well as theirs. All she said was '𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘴𝘰𝘯, 𝘴𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘺'. So that left me wondering, who had they told? . Why were Bonnie and Maeve Clark so secretive about their job? I didn't push Ash into telling me though.
'Yeah... I'll have to wait and see their reaction though I suppose. ' I said, half mumbling into Ash's shoulder. 'Yeah I guess you will.' He smiled, unlacing his arm from my neck. 'I'll see you later I guess. '
'Yes, And you mean tomorrow right? You've not planned anything without me, right?'
'No we're not. ' He smiled at me and Oakley, shaking his head, before turning away and making for the door.
'Ok bye! ' I called.
'Bye!' He called back. I got on well with Ash, always had.
