The lights went out, the hollowed screams of patients and doctors flooded the hospital. As the two ran for their lives there was only three ways to tell how close they were to the monster.
One, the lights. Theyre all off, but when they flicker that means it's almost got you.
Two, the growls of the beast. The roars, lion like but without the sound of the body's movements.
Three, when it's got you, you won't see it. The monster will rip you apart in the matter of seconds. The last thing you'll remember is the sight of blood flying into the air."Run," the doctor told the nurse and she did so. Running as fast as she could, the air in her lungs running out and sadly she'd have to stop, she knew it. "Dont stop, don't you fucking stop. You have to make it with me!" The doctor yelled and she nodded, still running as fast as she could.
But suddenly she collapsed, falling to her knees and trying to catch her breath. Panting as she tried to get up, only falling again. The young doctor tried to get the girl up, pulling her by her arm and begging her to save herself. Theyre words combining, not one knowing what the other was saying.
"Get up, get up... come on... get up..."
"Go! Go! Run! Save yourself!"They both cried, and then it started. Down the hall there were flickering lights, the door to the stairs opening up. The doors flying off the hinges with a bang. They both looked back, they knew they were fucked. The girl stood and they started running again.
But they were entering one room at a time, and the monster was entering two. They knew their doom, it was inescapable. They wouldn't go down without trying, there was no way.
The girl had just graduated med school, and the man had just had a baby. His wife and daughter were waiting for him. The girl, her parents were so proud of her, and that was a first for her. Both of them knew, they couldn't just stop.
No matter what.
So as they ran down the hall, running for the stairs to go down instead of up. They both wished their legs could just go a little faster. But that was humanly impossible, they were running as fast as the average human being could.
But it wasn't fast enough.
So when the flickering lights was right behind them, they both felt their hearts shatter. They knew that death was near, they could smell it. They could hear it in the grumbling growl of the creature. The lights were now flickering above their head, and it was coming.
And the last thing they saw, was blood flying into the air.
