-----Veronica's Pov-----

I felt cold when I woke up. I glanced around the room and saw that I was in my own bed again. It feels cold. Groggily I groaned as I sat up. Looking over at Mac, I saw that she was sitting crossed legged in her bed.

'Hey, How long was I out for' I asked when she noticed me.

'Uhh, around 1 to 2 hours.' She smiled. 'The doctors came in and laughed that you were snuggled up to me.' She chuckled. My cheeks burnt as I turned my head away. I don't remember cuddling up to her. Maybe I was just cold before. I heard the door opened and the doctor walked in. When she saw me, the corners of her mouth perked up. I didn't think my cheeks could get more red... I was wrong.

'I just wanted to come in and say Veronica we are taking you off some of the drugs we've been administering you so please tell us if any of your symptoms come back. You may feel pain and discomfort and that visitor hour has begun' She smiled, twisted on her heels and walked back out. It was only then I realise that no one had come see us yet. I really hope that it's my mum bringing something for us to do since we're stuck in here for at least 2 more days. A few minutes later, someone knocked on the door. It was my mum! Even with her insinuating that I was mentally ill and was going to take me to a shrink, I loved her and by God, I missed her.

'hey baby. How you feeling?' she came and sat on the side of my bed. I could see mac looking over at us.

'Better now that someone's awake' I chuckled directing to Mac. She got embarrassed and chuckled along with me.

'I do apologise. Next time, I'll have a concussion and stay awake just as you pleased' she faked bow and we erupted into laughter. My mum was sat they happy to see some happiness in my face.

'Soooo' She began. 'I've bought some sandwiches and snacks for you both with me as well as Cluedo. Oh! And a book' she reached into her bag and revealed a copy of seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo.

'It looked history esque but fiction, so I thought you'll like it. I don't know what it is about.' She beamed. I had never read the book, so it'll be a good read. I don't even know what it's about. My mum looked at Mac who was sitting staring at the wall with no one to talk to. A flash of pity was seen on her face.

'Hey, Heather.' Mac's head snapped towards the sound. 'Would you like to play Cluedo with us?' She asked. Mac's smile nearly blinded me as she nodded vigorously. We turned the bed tables so the gap between the beds was where the game could go. My mum set it up and handed our cards out. We let Mac start.

'Ron-uh- Veronica, do you have Miss Scarlett, dagger in the Kitchen' She asked upon entering the kitchen. It was cute and respectable that she didn't use my nickname in front of my parent just in case. I glanced down at my card and showed her the weapon and room. She looked at my mum and scribbled stuff down. We played a couple more rounds and when I had half my sheet filled in, Mac perked up.

'I know who did it' She declared. I made eye contact with my confused mum and we both looked at her again.

'You sure, Mac?' I asked not knowing how she was finished.

'Yes, I am' I loved the confidence.

'Okay, who what where then?'

'Mrs Peacock, revolver, ballroom' She announced. My mum opened the envelope and... holy fucking shit.

'How the fuck you do that?' I asked in utter confusion. My mum intervened before she could answer. 'Language, Veronica'

'Right sorry, How the fuck did you do that?' I questioned correctly again.

'It was pretty simple every time, I asked if you had a card and you mother had, her eyebrow would twitch and when you had the card, the corner of your mouth moved. These are common signs of someone who thought they got away with it.' She explained like it was our multiplications. My mouth was agape. We played more and chatted until Visiting hours were about to end. Mac one every round.

'Heather Honey, is your mum or dad coming to see you?' My mum asked. Her shoulders slumped and her eyes fell to the floor.

'... I don't think so Mrs Sawyer. I'm not even sure if she was told or not or if she cares enough' She clenched her jaw.

'Oh honey, I'm sorry. They may have not known when the timings were. I will go tell them when tomorrow's is so they can come okay?' She attempted to solve the issue.
Blinking rapidly, Mac croaked a, 'thank you'.

My mum got up and told us she would be a minute. When she came back, she said she was going to have to go now but:

'I got you this book Heather it's a law book where you can learn different laws and stuff. I'm not sure how much it would peak your interest' She explained handing her the book. Mac's smile perked as she thanked her numerous times. When my mum left, it was around 4 o'clock and with not much else to do, we both began to read our books.
