June 2022 (Past)

They laid there together, basking in the sun's rays as well as a contentedness that she hadn't felt for a very long time. Her head leaned against his shoulder, both laying on their backs, their sides touching, hands entwined near their hips.

"Is Nik your full name?" she asked breaking their silence.

"My full name is Nikolaos, but most people call me Niko or Nik." she popped her body up and over him, resting her chin on her hands that were now splayed across his chest.

"Nikolaos." she tested out. "I like it, but I think I'll still call you Nik." she smiled at him, content with how they were.

"Is Eliza your full name?" he asked, bring a hand up to push hair out of her face.

"It's Elizabeth, but I like Eliza." she could just lay here forever with him.

"Do you normally...." she moved her eyes around, asking if he was a usual recipient of first date sex.

"No." he laughed. "I don't normally take foreign women out either."

"Really?" she asked stunned. "You seemed to ask so naturally." she teased him.

"You were an exception and needed a ride." he rolled them, so her back was flat on the ground with him leaning over. "You were beautiful." he gave her a slow kiss. "There was something about you standing there and the opportunity was there." He gave her another long kiss.

Hand in hand they walked up the planking that led to the main area of the resort. She didn't want the day to end. After another round of lovemaking on the beach, they had made it back in the water for swimming and then back to the boat. He had driven the boat to a nearby port, where they had gotten lunch at a local seaside restaurant, before beginning the boat ride back to the resort.

"I have some family business tonight, and a charter the next day, but I would like to see you again." he stated as they walked through the sliding glass doors. She kept their hands together to show him which room was hers.

"I'd like to see you again as well." She stopped them in front of her room. "Now you which room I'm staying in." she gave him a sly smile, which he responded too with a kiss.

"I'll pick you up Thursday morning. I'll show you the mainland this time."

"I look forward to it. What time?"

"Nine?"

"Nine is perfect." Giving each other another kiss, Nik broke it before giving her a last smile and leaving her standing giddily in front of her room door.

She waited until she could no longer see him, before opening the door to her suite, heading straight to the sliding doors to the beach, watching as he made his way back to the boat and leaving. Going back inside her room, flopping on the bed, her mind raced with the days events. Nik was not only gorgeous but funny and intellectual. Conversation was natural and smooth. It felt like he saw her.

But at the end of her time here, she would have to say goodbye to him and be off to somewhere else in the world for who knew how long. Wrestling with the reality and the magic of the moment was hard, and if the next time they were together, was as pleasant as today had been, she would be in trouble. She couldn't worry about that right now. She had to live in the moment, this moment, for however long she could.

Not sleeping well the night before, Eliza was anxious to see Nik again. Excitement and anticipation of seeing him again had kept her mind working overtime. Would he show up? Would their connection still be there? Best- and worst-case scenarios played throughout her mind, from the night to the morning.

Nik had said they would be exploring the mainland today. Dressing in a baby blue flowy jumpsuit with white sandals, she hoped with would be appropriate for their time together.

Nervous that he wouldn't show, she stayed in her room. He knew which room was hers and she didn't want the front desk attendant to know if she had been stood up or ask any questions if she sat in one of the seats in the front foyer and didn't leave for an extended period of time but looked ready to leave.

Hearing a knock on her door, sent her heart racing to the point where she thought it may explode. Drawing in a deep breath before exhaling, she slowly made her way to the door, to open it, thankfully revealing a casually dressed Nik on the other side.

"Hi." she breathed out, thankful he had shown up.

"Are you ready?"He asked, as she opened the door wider.

"Yup." he stepped backwards to allow her to step out the door and close it behind her, a small purse hung over her shoulder.

Grabbing her hand with his, he led them out of the resort to a dark gray Mazda that stood a bit taller than most cars she had seen. He opened the passenger side door for her, letting her get in and closing the door behind her before getting in on his side.

"I figured this would be a more comfortable drive than being on the moped."

"The moped was fun, and it meant I got to hold onto you." he reached over and took her closest hand in his.

"Now you can hold on." he gave it a squeeze and she melted inside.

They drove northward from the resort. Him pointing out different areas and even stopping if she wanted to take a picture. He had told her that he was taking her to Nafplio for the day.

"Am I going to meet your family?" she joked.

"I can keep you away from their stores, but the only food I eat in Nafplio is from my mother." she tensed, unsure if she was wanting to meet his family. "That is why we will eat in Argos." she gave his hand a squeeze of thanks.

They spent time in Nafplio, with him showing her down charming walkways and alleys, taking photos of the blooming flowers. Tourists were starting to build up and several large tour buses dropped off what felt like hundreds of tourists to inundate the town. But even with the tourists, they laughed, bought a few items, kissed when able. She felt like a schoolgirl and this was her first crush. Time seemed irrelevant and people didn't matter. True to his word, while he pointed out the places owned by his family, he did not take her to them.

Before leaving for Argos, he drove them up to the Venetian fortress overlooking the town and sea, exploring and viewing the ruins, town and the sea. It felt like she was on top of the world, overlooking the tiny town and seeing for what felt like miles upon miles of Greek landscape. Of course, they also had to find a more secluded corner to press each other up against, feeling one another, but doing nothing more than heavy kissing and petting.

After a meal in Argos, he drove them around the area. It was incredible to see the diversity of Greece. The mountains to the orchards of oranges and olives to an almost desert like feel. Greece had it all.

Arriving back at the resort, Nik made sure to park in a parking space for overnight cars. Walking hand in hand back to her room, the door was barely closed before they were melded together, a want burning deep in both of them. It was easy for her to remove his shirt, but he growled in frustration at her outfit. She laughed at his frustration with it, breaking away to help slink out of it, revealing basic underwear, she hadn't brought anything fancy with her, but to him, even the basic was a turn on.

Coming back together they two fell onto the bed, wrapped up in each other for the night.
