FROM A YOUNG AGE, Pandora had no recollection of her past life or family. She was completely uncertain about her origins, whether her biological family was still alive, or even where she was born. It was at the age of five that she was adopted by Edgar Bones, forever leaving behind any traces of her original identity.
Initially, it was just Pandora and her adoptive father, but when she was seven years old, Edgar met a woman who would eventually become his wife, Verda Bones.
Verda tried her best to form a connection with Pandora, but the young child never fully opened up to her. It wasn't that Pandora disliked Verda; rather, she sensed a certain discomfort emanating from her adoptive mother. Despite trying to figure out the reason behind these feelings, the child struggled to frame them in any substantial way.
Over time, Verda resigned herself to the distant relationship between her and Pandora. She continued to treat Pandora as if she were her own child outwardly, but internally, her feelings towards the child had transformed into fear.
