The declaration of independence, although unrecognized and ignored by most for fear of antagonizing Parpaldia-or simply dismissed as unlikely to last-had still sent ripples throughout the Empire and even reached the distant corners of Third Civilization. Among those showing curiosity were observers from other civilizations, like the Milishial and Mu, who noted the peculiar choice of the name Principality of Terra, which is unusual name from third civilization.

"Terra," murmured a man as he sipped his tea, his tone friendly but contemplative as he mulled over the significance of Prince Alexios's rebellion. "An unusual name from an unusual place."

Across from him sat a young but inherently odd figure-a silver-haired elf with piercing eyes, exuding the wisdom and presence of someone deeply experienced. "As far as I'm aware, your country keeps out of Third Civilization affairs-save for commerce," he said, his tone sharp. "So what brings you here?"

The man set down his cup, his gaze amused. "To safeguard our people, of course."

"From what?" the elf replied icily. "A trivial rebellion that's on the verge of collapse?"

"Perhaps," the man replied with a smirk. "But I seem to recall a time, 250 years ago, when a so-called 'trivial' rebellious province of the Imperial Milishial Western Colonies-now known as the Kingdom of Central Law-secured independence." The mockery in his tone drew a darkening glare from his elven counterpart.

"Mu should know — excessive interest in involving itself — will break that." the elf replied firmly. "The Treaty of Glicer, signed in 1628, prohibits espionage, military intervention, or annexation within the demarcated boundaries of the Third Civilization."

"But we are free to protect our people, to identify threats before they arise, and to secure our interests," the man countered smoothly, a grin spreading across his face as the elf suppressed a grimace.

The elf rose to leave, visibly dissatisfied. "As long as you understand those boundaries," he said, casting one last piercing look before exiting. The man watched him go, giving a slight shrug as he placed his empty cup on the table, content with the exchange.

“An unofficial assignment is such a hassle,” he muttered, skimming over the report. The headline caught his attention: Rebel Prince Declares Independence, Claims Doric Region. According to the document, Prince Alexios had demanded the Parpaldian Empire recognize his independence in exchange for a ceasefire.

“Audacious, or is Parpaldia just powerless?” he mused with an amused smile. The empire had lost two armies and a penal division, a defeat that didn’t appear to be trivial, though the prince’s hasty demands might still come back to haunt him.

He gazed out over Esthirant, Parpaldia’s grand capital, before tossing a few extra coins on the table. “Keep the change,” he said to the waiter, his tone offhand as he rose and exited the teashop.

In the shadows, two other superpowers watched intently, each calculating their next move as Alexios’s rebellion unfolded.

Fiemar Region, Principality of Terra

As the sun rose over Deavus, the newly claimed capital of our rebellion—now branded as the Principality of Terra—I surveyed the town—rather city. It was a modest place by Earth’s standards, home to around 70,000 souls, where cobblestone streets run between wooden houses and stone buildings topped with hay. The lack of walls around the city left only a moat for defense, yet its spread was impressive enough for this region. Only a few structures rose to three stories, towers mostly, with the rest modest two-story homes and shops.

"Will this be the new center of operations?" I asked Rondelle, who stood nearby.

He nodded, pride in his eyes. "With our territories secured, and our position stable, we have the buffer we need between us and enemy lines. No need to remain holed up in a fort anymore. Your prestige will grow more visible here, in a true city."
