28. Easton

"My back is on fire, my god" I winced as I slowly got up from my stomach after Zade put cold Aloe Vera on me. "I may have melanin in me but I burn like I'm white" I earned a laugh from Zade as he returned from washing his hands in his bathroom.

Today is our last day in Maysville before we leave for college. June flew by. Zade's excited to get back into football and play with his new team and I'm excited to decorate the apartment Mrs. Del Luca and Dad helped us pay for.

Zade and I's rooms are all packed up and already in a van being moved to Georgia. "Are you excited to move?" Zade said laying down next to me on his bed. "Yea I guess. After you've moved as much as I have it just loses its excitement. And I just pray we don't miss the twins being born." I put my head on his chest and listened to his heart beat. I could sit like this forever.

Zade's POV

"I want a baby." she said quietly. My heart stopped. I looked down at her and she looked at me. "I heard your heart stop. I don't mean now." She laughed. I didn't think it was funny. I would love to have a baby with her. Yes, we are freshly out of high school but if it happened I wouldn't be mad.

She slowly started to close her eyes and eventually fell asleep. I could sit like this forever. I never want to lose her. She's the love of my life. I pull my hand to her head and slowly start stroking her hair as I fall asleep too.

Two hours later I wake up to the dogs barking at someone at the door. Lani's still sleeping so I peel myself from underneath her and walk downstairs. I open the door to see some blonde dude standing at my door with roses. Who the fuck is this.

"Uh, you must be Zade, Lani's boyfriend. I'm Easton, Lani's best friend." 'Best friend' my ass. He stuck his hand out for me to shake which I just stared at. He awkwardly brought his hand back and rubbed the back of his neck. "Is she um... home?" He asked, looking into the house.

"She's sleeping." I said opening the door for him to come in. "Coglione," (asshole) I whispered under my breath. "Sorry, what was that?" He asked, setting the flowers on the entry table. "Lani!" He shouts as running past me and towards the stairs.

I turn around to see Leilani slowly walking down the stairs rubbing her eyes. When she looks up and sees this dude her face lights up and she starts running down the stairs. 'What the fuck" I thought right before she jumped on him "Oh what the actual fuck is going on." I said out loud for them to hear.

She looks at me then this Easton dude and pushes him to let her down. She walks over to me and I can tell this dude is not happy. "Easton, this is my boyfriend Zade, Zade this is Easton. Carlos's best friend from Seattle." She smiles at me before looking at him again.

I knew this ass hat wasn't her best friend. I give a half ass smile to this shit head before walking to Atlas to take him out. I can hear them both laughing in the living room as I close the back door.

I slid the velvet box out from where I had it hidden in the coffee table drawer on the patio. I opened the box to see the ring Caylie, Miles, and I picked out. 'This fucker better stay away from my girl' I think before I put the box back.

Leilani's POV

I can't believe Easton is here. It's almost been a year since I've seen him. I text him once a week but it's not the same. I know Zade isn't happy about this but he will get over himself

"Is he treating you good Lani?" Easton asks, putting his hand on my knee. I smile at him before responding. "He's the best thing to ever happen to me East. I love him a lot. We leave next week to Georgia. You should come visit some time."
