### **INT. MERCER HOUSE - LIVING ROOM - DAY**The atmosphere was thick with tension as Bobby sat on the couch, the TV flickering in the background, completely ignored. Tommy paced the floor, his hands running through his hair, while Frances leaned against the wall, arms crossed and worry etched on his face.
"Where's Daniella?" Tommy asked, glancing at Bobby.
"She needed space. Things have been rough," Bobby replied, his voice distant. The weight of recent events hung heavily on him, like a storm cloud threatening to break.
Just then, Bobby's phone buzzed. He glanced down, and his stomach dropped. It was a hospital number. Heart racing, he answered.
"Hello?"
"Mr. Mercer? I'm sorry to inform you that your mother has passed away," the voice on the other end was cold, clinical, devoid of empathy.
Bobby's world shattered. "No... no, that can't be right. She was fighting!"
"Please, come to the hospital," the voice continued, but Bobby barely registered the words. He dropped the phone, the sound of it clattering against the floor echoing in the silence.
"Bobby!" Frances shouted, rushing over.
"She's gone," Bobby gasped, tears brimming in his eyes. "We need to go. Now!"
### **INT. HOSPITAL - MOMENTS LATER**
The hospital loomed before them, sterile and unforgiving. Bobby sprinted through the doors, his brothers close behind. The fluorescent lights felt harsh, amplifying his pain. He rushed to the front desk, breathless.
"I'm here for my mom!" he shouted, desperation clawing at his throat.
The nurse's face was sympathetic but firm. "I'm sorry for your loss. You can see her in Room 302."
Each step felt like a lifetime as he made his way down the hallway. Memories of laughter and warmth flooded his mind, a stark contrast to the cold reality he was facing. As he entered the room, the sight hit him like a punch to the gut.
His mother lay still, the machines silent. The world around him blurred, and for a moment, he couldn't breathe. "Mom!" he cried, rushing to her side, gripping her hand, hoping to feel any sign of life.
But there was nothing. Just emptiness.
Tears streamed down his face, the weight of grief crashing over him. "I'm so sorry," he whispered, the words barely escaping his lips. "I should have been here."
Tommy and Frances stood behind him, grief-stricken, unable to find the words. In that moment, Bobby felt utterly alone, drowning in the sorrow of an irreversible goodbye.
